Fall Fashion: Must-Have Items for Women

Richard Banks
As the breezy days of summer pass, it is time to put away the bikinis. With fall comes change. And with change comes a time to create a fashion forward ensemble to be a true trend setter. This fall, trends are changing, are you ready?

The trends this year are more of an affordable chic. Mixing stylish creations with functionality is at the top of the list of fall fashion. You don't have to spend a million dollars to look like a million dollars.

Menswear

A huge trend this year is a look inspired from traditional men's attire. Sports coats, collared shirts, and pleated pants are must have items. The jackets should give the appearance of a tailored look. When considering menswear, think of an oversized look. Oversized apparel should be slight, not noticeable to give the appearance of being baggy.

Remember to complement you outfit with a flat or a nice heel. Wearing last year's attire is okay, if you purchase new shoes.

The 1950s

The 1950s are the quintessential decade of style and elegance. When pulling together an ensemble for a night on the town, remember simplicity. A pleated miniskirt complementing a Henley is a perfect choice. For a girl's night, think pencil skirt with a blouse complemented with a crop jacket.

Non-Traditional Colors

In years past, color schemes had to match. Mixing a red blouse with black pants was the norm, but not anymore. Keep the same color pallet, but the prints need to be wacky and crazy. Consider shades of lime with shades of red of varying shades of green. Leopard is another must have fall fashion trend.

Accessories

The more the accessory is layered, the better. Jewelry such as big bold necklace below the neckline and in; think feathers. Bracelets need to be multiple and match the color scheme of your ensemble. Scarves and another fall fashion accessory to add to your list. Don't think traditional; consider a large bold color scarf. Lastly, a bag is the best way to complement anything; the bigger the better.

Outerwear

An outfit isn't complete without outerwear. Knit tops are essential. A hot trend is the zippered blazer. Your question regarding layering is now answered. When considering a hat to complement you choice, you won't go wrong with a classic fedora or a knit beanie.

Remember summer is over and now is the time to incorporate pizzazz with fall fashion trends.
