Michigan's Lower Peninsula is a Mecca for fall festival lovers throughout the Midwest.

One of the most anticipated Fall Festivals in Southeast Lower Michigan is the Clinton Fall Festival held each year on the last full weekend in September. In 2009 the Festival dates are September 25, 26, and 27th; 2009 will mark this festival's 36th year.

This festival is held in Clinton, Michigan (Lenawee County) along highway US-12. Clinton is located 56 miles southeast of the heart of Detroit. Clinton is a mixture of old and new; with beautiful tree lined streets, great restaurants and all the charm of old Michigan.

• Daily festival hours are 9:00AM -6:00PM. All artisans, craft and food booths are open all day, and there is something for everyone. Food and refreshment booths are strategically placed throughout the Festival grounds so you never need to be hungry or thirsty.

Free stage entertainment runs from 10AM-6PM on Friday and Saturday.

If you have never seen the Cottonwood Cloggers, this show is a must see at 5PM Friday evening. Choreographed by Atticus Sunmer, this group has performed throughout the Midwest.

Other Friday performers include Colors the Clown, April Gibson and Randy Rainy.

• Saturday, September 26 from 9AM-3PM brings you the must see Annual Car Show.

This year the car show will have over 500 entrants - muscle cars to die for! It's held in Clinton's Tate Park, 479 W. Michigan Avenue. Admission is free to Festival goers. Those showing their magnificent machines pay entry fees that benefit many needy children and their families throughout the area. This is a one-of-a-kind event and, if you love Michigan's Muscle Machines, if power and style fascinate you, you won't want to miss this one.

Saturday on the stage, be sure to catch Boots in Motion line dancing; the Junior and Adult Talent shows; and Molly Marie, a thirteen-year-old Nashville recording artist. For the young crowd, Sally Arredondo will perform a Hannah Montana tribute.

• Sunday brings the Grand Parade through downtown Clinton at 2:30PM - floats, marching bands and fun for all abounds. Bring lawn chairs and get a good seat early. US-12 will be detoured for the parade, so, if you are just passin' through, why not buy an icy lemonade and join the fun?

The artisan booths are open all three festival days from 9AM-6PM. You can find handmade items for you, your home, gifts, and for any holiday. The Christmas booths are particularly fascinating - and the prices are very reasonable.

Celina - Thanks so much for the comment, but I don't know the names of the vendors. I suggest you try contacting Cherryl Brown at cbrown4261@verizon.net as she was in charge of the merchant booths. :)

    Again, thanks for reading!

A vendor at the 2009 festival sold baby shoes with squeaky toys in them. I very badly would like to buy some for my new niece. Can you please give me the website or telephone number of this vendor? Please e-mail me at the address above. Thank you.
