Bargain Fun for the Whole Family
Waters Farm Fall Farm Days and Festival. In Sutton, MA, you won't find an urban center for miles but you will find an historic farm that has been maintained by family members for generations. According to its website the farm was built back in pre-Revolutionary War days. Today the 200 acres of farm land and preserved buildings continue to provide a marvelous view of how the farm developed over time and what life on a working farm back in the 19th century was actually like.
Waters Farm Preservation group annually sponsors "Fall Farm Days and Festival" which draws folks from across the region and beyond. Regardless of your age there are activities and events held during the weekend that you will find entertaining and enjoyable. This year's Fall Farm Days and Festival will be held on October 2 and 3 from 10 a.m- 4 p.m
Kids can get involved in things like face painting, pumpkin decorating and pony rides. Older folks may enjoy tours of the farm buildings and the crafts display offered by area vendors. There are some quirky events at the fair too like a lumber jack show and a tractor pull. There is always a wide selection of food and nearby trails where you can pursue a peaceful walk.
Admission to the fair is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors over 65 and just a dollar for kids 3-17.
Apple Country Fair -Brookfield, MA . In central Massachusetts the Brookfields have been growing in reputation because whether it is Brookfield, North Brookfield,East or West Brookfield you can expect a treat for the eye and lots of interesting shops and boutiques to investigate. So it is really no surprise that when fall fair and festival time rolls around this is an area that will provide a get-together that will be warmly remembered.
In fact this will make the 32nd year that the locals in Brookfield have organized their "Apple Country Fair" for all to enjoy. There is a real down home feel, smell and taste to this fall festival in central Massachusetts. You can browse crafts offerings from some 70 providers or you can sniff your way among tables laden with fresh picked apples, cider, fudge and everyone's favorite apple pie. The kids will be kept busy with sand art and a moon walk or getting a great face painting. All the time raffles will be going on to benefit community charitable concerns.
The raffle prizes vary each year and reflect the charitable spirit of local residents and business folks who donate all manner of prizes. Still each year the top prize is a quilt. Not any quilt mind you, but a quilt that has been put together over the previous year through the work of many talented local stitchers. It is a treasured item worthy of excellent space in anyone' home and is filled top to bottom with a sense and a feel of community.

Fall Family Festival and Craft Fair, Whitinsville, MA . Last years Blackstone Valley Fall Family Festival and Craft Fair was apparently such a success that the backers decided to play it through again. So on October 9 from 11a.m.- 4 p.m. agriculture, animal and craft enthusiasts, which takes in just about everyone , are invited to come and take part in this year's event.
Even though there will be a healthy assortment of craft tables to view, this event in Whitinsville is more than just a craft fair. For animal lovers there is a "Barnyard Midway" and horseback riding demonstrations going on during the day. Kids will love the new extensive corn maze and the chance to take part in a hay ride. There will also be a hot air balloon, miniature golf and a for real clown on the premises.
Add to these specialties some great food and a chance as supporters put it on their website to "sample what our local farms have to offer". You are likely to be part of a large and enthusiastic crowd because this is a fall festival in central Massachusetts that is absolutely free.
