The city of Wichita offers many unique festivals such as the Flight Festival and the Renaissance Festival, each autumn season. These events are a great opportunity to take the family out, meet new people, and become involved with the Wichita community. Read below for more festivals that will take place this fall. Wichita Flight Festival
September 25 - 26
McConnell Air Force Base
Free Admission

The Wichita Flight Festival is a celebration of the aviation history and the presence of the Air Force in the community of Wichita. According to the Wichita Business Journal, festival organizers are hoping to double last year's attendance and expect nearly 50,000 guests this year. There will be activities and entertainment for the whole family, including the famous aerial acts by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. LOL Craft Fair & Fall Festival
October 2, 9am - 4pm
Lord of Life Lutheran Church
Free Admission

At the LOL Craft Fair & Fall Festival you will receive a free gift bag with special offers from the sponsors at the door. The craft fair will be the perfect place to shop for locally hand-made items and a great place to drag the kids to as well. The craft fair will have food, games and crafts for all ages.

Great Plains Renaissance Festival
October 9 - 10, 10am - 6pm
Sedgwick County Park
Adults are $10, $8 in advance; children are $5

The Renaissance Festival includes several scheduled performances on two stages, including magic shows, puppetry, jousting, fencing, whip-handling, jugglers, and aerial acrobats. The entertainment provided is done by local professionals and volunteers. The Renaissance Festival also hosts local vendors selling everything from medieval clothing to hot dogs. The festival is a wonderful opportunity to see medieval history brought to life with local talent and craft.

Tallgrass Film Festival
October 22 - 24
Various downtown venues, including Wichita Warren Theater
General admission is $9

Visit the largest film festival held open to the public in Kansas to experience the richly diverse independent world of film. The festival will hold special events for fans to interact with writers, directors and actors, screenings, after parties, presentations and awards to Kansas filmmakers.
