Fall Harvest Festivals in Media, PA

Linvilla Orchards Has Great Fall Festivals This Year

Jennifer Bove
Linvilla Orchards has been a favorite place of mine for quite some time. When my children were little I took them there at least once a week just to see the animals and play on the playground. All three of them have been there for class trips as well. It being such a wonderful place on a normal day, with no specific activities, imagine what a wonderful festive place to be during their fall festivals!

The Johnny Appleseed Arts & Music Festival

This fun fall festival will be a lot of fun. It will have local craftsmen/women, and live music handpicked for this fall festival. After enjoying the music and looking at everyones fine work, there will be so much more to do. As it will be harvest time for the pumpkins, take a hayride through the fields and see the pumpkins that are ready to be harvested for the fall. Feel free to have your children enjoy the pony rides after seeing the amazing pumpkin patch as well! There will also be a maze for the children and face painting.

Never leave Linvilla Orchards empty handed, whether it be a fall festival or just a regular day trip. The store is an awesome place to browse their fresh baked goods and fruits and vegetables. If you'd rather, during the fall festival, you can even pick your own apples an bring them home.

The Johnny Appleseed Arts & Music Festival timetable:

September 18 and 19, 2010 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday:
10:30 AM The Broozers
1:00 PM Run of the Mill String Band
3:30 PM Zorro Gato

Sunday:

Apple Festival and Pie Eating Contest

What a great way to start the fall! This apple festival of course, offers pick your own apples and so much more. The pie eating contest is divided into different age groups so little kids and big kids (including adults) can have fun in this contest. The age groups are 6-10, 11-16, & 17 and over. The competition gives them not only a chance to win a prize but to have their name as the champion title. There will also be a cooking demonstration so you can learn some new ways to use the apples you just picked straight from the tree.
