Fall Jeans - Skinny
Skinny jeans continue to reign supreme for the time being. For fall, these can be worn in a variety of ways. Try out a flouncy blouse with a blazer and booties, or with a sweater and flats. Skinny jeans can easily be tucked into high riding boots, or rain boots on bad weather days. If you like to wear your jeans with heels or sandals, look for a skinny pair with embellishments at the ankle. There are several styles making the rounds that feature ankle zippers, snaps or buttons.
When they first came into fashion a few years ago, skinny jeans were strictly for the skinny. As they style has raged on, the demand for skinny jeans to flatter all shapes and sizes has increased. Today skinny jeans can be found everywhere, from the most narrow-cut juniors stores to plus-size shops like Lane Bryant and Avenue. Even if you think you're too fat for a skinny jean, I urge you to try on a pair. They're a lot more forgiving than they look, and can help you pull off a sleeker shape.
Fall Jeans - Flare
The second style that looks like it'll be fashionable this fall is the flare. These have gone in and out of style over the past decade, each time a little different. The latest flare jeans have a slimmer shape than those we've seen in previous years. These flares are slim up top and fitted throughout the upper leg, lending a tailored look. For the flare leg, designers have dialed it down a notch. No ridiculous bell-bottoms here! The flare leg is proportional to the rest of the jean, giving a look of a roomier bootcut more than a flare in many cases. Even if you're not usually a flare fan, be sure to give the "skinny" flares a second look this fall.
Flares will be the go-to jean for lazy days this fall. Try them with sneakers and a tee for a low-key date night, or with a sweater and scarf for the first football game of the season.
Fall Jeans - Tuxedo
Tuxedo jeans will be seen everywhere this fall. These jeans feature a strip of contrasting fabric down the outer seams of the legs similar to tuxedo pants, hence the name. Depending on the pair, these could easily be dressed up or down. Try them with a slouchy sweater to contrast the the formal look, or wear your tuxedo jeans with a structured blouse to work.
I wouldn't be surprised to see these jeans pop up in quite a few colors this fall. Aside from black and several shades of blue, I've already seen them in gray and brown. I'd love to see these in jewel tones, such as a rich red or head-turning purple.
Fall Jeans - Trouser
Wearing clothing that fits and flatters never goes out of style, and trouser jeans are an excellent example of that. Another pair that you can wear to work, trouser jeans have a sleek, well-fitting shape that's not too tight. Like flares, trouser jeans are fitted at the waist and graduate into wider legs. Trouser jeans have a classic, basic shape that can be worn with just about anything. Pair with a blazer for a day-to-night workwear look, or use them to tone down an otherwise over-the-top outfit.

Post a CommentGood to see flare jeans are back, skinny jeans are NOT comfortable and too tight. (and this coming from a just-below-100-lbs-girl.)
I can't wait to see what these jeans look like. The bell bottoms need to go and stay gone, lol.
I love jeans.
my daughter would like this. I don't buy jeans but once every 5 to 10 years
I'll be interested to see the flare this fall. Having said that, in my view both genders always look best in boot cut jeans.
Good information.
Great jean guide! I think I might try the skinny jean, but I’m undecided on how I feel about the Tuxedo jeans you described. Guess I’ll have to wait and see how they look this fall! Thanks!
