So to achieve this fall butternut look you'll need a flat shadow brush, a fluffy shadow brush and E.L.F's shadow quad in 'Butternut.' The shadow quad comes with a sponge applicator which I find works just as well if you don't have brushes. If you don't have this quad the colors in this are a soft golden yellow, golden orange, a dark brown and copper.
Before applying any makeup I always prep my face. I use a daily moisturizer with an SPF on my face and Urban Decay's Primer Potion on my eyelids to help my eye makeup last longer and prevents creasing.
This first look is for every day wear that's fresh. Start off by applying the golden orange (second shade from the left) with your flat shadow brush along your lids from the inside moving out. Keep the color below your crease. Now apply the yellow (first from the left) from your crease to brow bone blending it out with your fluffy shadow brush. The last step is to apply the dark brown (third from the left) shadow along your upper lash line. Apply a few coats of mascara and you're done. Quick and simple, the way I prefer makeup to be.
The last look is similar to the first but a little smoky, great for the evening. Follow the same steps as for the first look, but with the first shadow only apply it from the inside out three-fourths of the way, and apply the copper shade the remaining one-fourth and blend slightly where the two colors meet.
The rest of the face is up to you, but I would suggest keeping it clean and simple with a pink or mauve colored lip gloss or lipstick. Maybe a little blush or bronzer along the cheeks, but just a touch for color if you need it.
So there you have it, two very simple fall looks that take no more than five minutes to pull together. Enjoy!
