Fall Table Decor and Decorating Ideas

When thinking of fall table decor, many will instantly think of a cornucopia. While a cornucopia is certainly appropriate and festive for the fall season, it isn't the only option for fall table decorations. Here are five fall table decorations and decorating ideas to spice up your home for the season.

Fall Table Decor: Leaves
Fresh leaves can easily be used as fall table decor. Simply collect some on your next nature walk. Spread out some newspaper on a patio or outdoor table. Lay the leaves flat and brush on some Mod Podge (easily found at a craft store). Once they dry, turn them over and repeat the process. This will make the decorative leaves last longer. Once thoroughly dry, the leaves can be spread around a table top for a nice fall accent.

Fall Decorating Ideas: Gourds
When thinking of gourds, some may only think of Thanksgiving or Halloween. Gourds and pumpkin gourds can make great decorations anytime during the fall season. They can be used as part of a table arrangement, placed on countertops, or even on a decorative stand. Also try placing gourds and pumpkin gourds in places such as a windowsill or fireplace mantle. You can even place some on the front porch. To make them last longer, try spraying them thoroughly with a clear acrylic coating.

Fall Table Decor: Mini Grapevine Wreaths
Mini grapevine wreaths can often be found in the floral section of large craft supply stores, such as Hobby Lobby. These can be used as table decor in many ways. These can be used as candle rings. Leave them or decorate them with silk flowers or leaves. There are even grapevine wreaths small enough to use as napkin rings. Since they come in various sizes and shapes (such as circles and hearts, there are many ways to use them in fall table decor.

Fall Decorating Ideas: Tree Branches and Twigs
When branches fall off the trees or when you trim the trees, you probably throw them in the trash, right? Well, now you have a use for them. Use them in your fall decorating. Branches (leaves and all) can be sprayed with a clear acrylic coating. Once they dry, you can use them as wall hangings, as accents to fall wreaths, as fall table decor, and more. One fun idea is to hang a leafy branch on a wall over the top of a nice photo collection. This adds a great seasonal accent to a room.

Fall Table Decor: Pinecones
Pinecones are great for fall table decor, as they can be mixed in with potpourri, floral arrangements, and more. They can even be spread around the table. Plus, when the fall season is over, pinecones can stay to go along with Christmas decor. To make the pinecones last longer, spray them with acrylic adhesive, as with some of the other decor mentioned above.

When thinking of fall table decor, many will instantly think of a cornucopia. While a cornucopia is certainly appropriate and festive for the fall season, it isn't the only option for fall table decorations. Here are five fall table decorations and decorating ideas to spice up your home for the season.

I'm a pumpkin and gourd kind of girl - but we also have to use whatever comes home with the kiddies.

I keep my dining room table always set with Cream colored China, gold chargers and gold napkins/runner. I also have a three angel candle holder in the center. The candle holder is cream with gold trim. I just love to keep the formal dining room looking like those in the magazines.
