Fall Television Preview: Journeyman Coming to NBC

PrinceKrillo
Starting this fall season, there's a lot more to be tuning in for than just Heroes. Get your TV schedules ready for a major makeover.

Last season, the majority of the new shows that were introduced by the networks ended up failing. Why? Probably because they lacked a good premise and had little if any potential for success. This year, there's nothing but potential in the slew of new shows coming your way starting this fall season.

If you think the "safe bet" shows such as CSI, Grey's Anatomy, House, The Office, Prison Break, and Lost, among others, are still going to be the "what to watch" programs this upcoming season, think again. You're all about to witness a serious changing of the guard.

I present my fall preview of the Top 11 new shows from all five major networks that I will most definitely be tuning in for. The TV season may have just ended, but it's never too early to start planning for the next one. Especially with the upcoming 2007-2008 year.

My 2007-2008 TV Season Pick #2 - "Journeyman" (NBC)
It's no surprise that NBC has decided to cash in on the success of "Heroes" from this past season by introducing a number of new, sci-fi-themed shows. Meet the new lead-out for "Heroes" Monday nights on NBC this fall.

"Journeyman," set to air Mondays on NBC in the 10:00 timeslot, is an upcoming sci-fi drama set to follow the network's #1 forerunner, "Heroes." Don't be fooled, however, as the "science fiction" aspect of the show is pretty light and absolutely not kid-friendly; by what can be inferred from the previews, this show is primarily a serialized drama aimed at an adult demographic and deals with serious, non-comedic issues.

Creator and executive producer Kevin Falls introduces this brand new drama starring Kevin McKidd as Dan Vasser, a man who inexplicably finds himself in his own past, where he is reunited with the ex-fiancée whom he thought he had lost. He is faced with the choice of leaving the past where it belongs ... or changing history to save someone he cared about. And that's just the pilot.

Expect some serious time-traveling to occur throughout the series, although not the comical kind of Hiro Nakamura from "Heroes." Airing at 10/9c, "Journeyman" will find itself butting heads with "The Bachelor" (ABC) as well as the perennial "CSI: Miami" (CBS).

My Predicted Survival Rating for "Journeyman" on NBC:
40% chance of being renewed
