House...Quirky, Sharp and Enlightening..

Quirky, sharp and enlightening...

Let's face it - we all love a little drama with our weekly TV programs, but "House, MD" is an innovative look into the lives of those dedicated doctors and residents balancing the determination of solving mystifying medical mysteries, and the determination of solving personal issues. Plus it gives an in-depth look at unusual medical circumstances.

But this season promises to be unlike all the rest. True to its "teaching hospital" venue, Dr Gregory House, MD no longer has his reliable staff of residents - Cameron, Forman and Chase. What is to follow will truly be a unique experience. Will House's gruff demeanor cause even more problems? Will his drug addiction finally get the best of him? Will the quest for new staff members be as painfully rude as his interactions with older cast members?

Although "House" can be considered a controversial program...I mean who would opt to have a physician addicted to pain meds...then again who wouldn't want the caliber of House's knowledge on their side...this weekly show is addictive!

Sure there are other medical shows out there - Bones, ER, Scrubs - but where else can you find an emphasis on the medical end of the story line too? Sure, it's there - lingering somewhere in the background. But not with House! The medical mystery he battles every week never takes a back seat to the drama that unfolds. And watching this series makes you understand that medical problems aren't always cut and dry. I mean who would think you could get sick from a pair of unwashed jeans? Or who would believe that several seemingly unrelated symptoms could be from one obscure illness?

House finds an unusual balance between the personal and the medical drama. Strong story lines and even stronger personalities make this show, now in its fourth season, a must watch! Hugh Laurie is one-of-a-kind - a doctor like no other! He has problems just like the rest of us - he deals with chronic pain, he has an addictive personality, he thinks he is infallible and invincible - and he's crass, insensitive, bold and belligerent - but he knows his stuff!

House goes beyond the typical medical drama and makes you think. He stands true to his nature and his beliefs - everyone has something to hide - everyone lies about something - and everything has a reason behind it - and he could care less what you think about him! House is a hard-hitting drama which promises even more twists and turns this season with the search for a new crew. Will Dr House finally meet his match this upcoming season? Wouldn't it be amusing to watch House cope with a personality stronger and more opinionated - or with a resident whose knowledge rivals his own?
