Is there trouble in paradise for Grey's title character Meredith Grey and her hunk of burning love Dr. Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd? The final episode of season three puts a definite 'yes' behind that question mark. But could Seattle Grace's newest class of interns bring further impending doom to the fate of what has become widely known as Der/Mer?

By now, every GA fan from here to the moon knows that Chyler Leigh has joined the cast of GA in the role of Lexie Grey, estranged younger McSister of Meredith Grey. Der/Mer fans are on pins and needles as they wait for the new season to reveal how Derek's attraction to Lexie will affect his already failing relationship with her big sis. Previews of the fall season indicate that Mer overhears Der refer to Lexie as the girl from the bar. Sounds like trouble brewing.

But wait! There maybe good news for the countless Der/Mer fans out there in the world. Since it seemed like history was repeating itself when Derek narrowly dodged a one night stand with yet another Grey sister, it makes sense that a sizzling romance between McDreamy and McSister would be the perfect soap operaesque twist. However, RUMOR has it that Lexie prefers her men a little rougher around the edges, and that she will be getting close to Alex Karev, who is rebounding from his many loves and trists from last season.

For those of you who are standing by hoping that Lexi will fall into the water the next time a ferry crashes, keep in mind that she has been through a very trying ordeal with the recent death of her mother, Susan Grey, and cut the girl a break. And if that isn't enough to warrant some sympathy, RUMOR has it that she ends up being one of Yang's interns. And still if that's not bad enough, she's Meredith's sister and Thatcher's daughter. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place!

Lexie, a graduate of Harvard Medical School, is older sister to Molly Grey Thompson, Thatcher and Susan Grey's younger daughter. At this time, she has no file on the official GA website, but viewers seemed be less concerned with her credentials than her impact on Der/Mer. Only time will tell what will happen in this love triangle, square, or whatever it is now, but we will get a glimpse this Thursday night when GA returns with all new shows for the fall season.
