Fall TV ABC's "Samantha Who?"

On Monday, October 15th at 9:30pm/8:30c, ABC will be premiering a new half hour comedy entitled, "Samantha Who?". The network originally had the series titled, "Sam I Am" but changed it due to the fact that Dr, Seuss's estate had problems with it. In May of this year, ABC ordered 13 episodes of this half hour comedy. Let's see what viewers have to look forward to with, "Samantha Who?".

This comedy revolves around the life of Samantha Newly. Sam hasn't always made the best of decisions in her life and probably wouldn't fit the bill of what one would consider a "good" person. Sam is cheating on her boyfriend with a man who is married, drinks far too much for her own good and at times can be a nasty person. Soon though her life is about to change forever.

Sam is involved in a car accident which leaves her in a coma. When she comes to, it is apparent she has amnesia. While in the hospital, her friends and family come to visit and she has no clue as to who they are but more importantly, she has no clue as to who she is. There are her parents who she has not seen or communicated with in a few years. Then there is her close friend Andrea who loves to go out and have a good time. Finally there is Todd, her boyfriend that she cheated on.

As Sam starts to slowly unravel the type of person she was, it's not a pretty sight. Maybe this amnesia happened for a reason? Perhaps she can turn her life around for the better. Only time will tell.

"Samantha Who?" stars Christina Applegate, Kevin Dunn ("Transformers"), Jennifer Esposito ("Spin City"), Melissa McCarthy ("Gilmore Girls"), Tim Russ ("Live Free or Die Hard"), Jean Smart ("Designing Women") and Barry Watson ("7the Heaven"). "Samantha Who?" is executive produced by Cecila Ahern, Don Todd ("Soccer Moms") as well as Peter Traugott ("Jake in Progress").

Will "Samantha Who?" be able to find its audience? ABC wants you to watch this series as they have it airing right after their powerhouse, "Dancing with the Stars". Then "The Bachelor" airs immediately after it. The promos for this series are hilarious and Christina Applegate is really delightful as Samantha. The characters seem to mesh quite well together. I think ABC might have a hit on their hands. If the entire 30 minutes are anything like the promos, I feel it has a chance at surviving. Audiences take note, this show shouldn't be missed! "Samantha Who?" premieres on Monday, October 15th at 9:30pm/8:30c on ABC.
