Well, thankfully, in Snoop's show footballs will be whizzing in the air instead of bullets and no, there will not be pimps in the house and ho's shaking their asses in front of your TV. Can you imagine that conversation from Snoop's wife Shante? Hey, I TOLD you not to bring your ho's in the house!
In that case, it would be like Married With Children gone wrong, except that will not be the case with Fatherhood, a show depicting Snoop Dizzle at his fizzle, um, finest as a dad to three children, ages seven, nine and 11.
In the show Snoop will try to make do in the California hills with all the millions he has made over the past two decades. And he's set to make even more with the release of his ninth album, Ego Trippin', and a video from it that is due to hit MTV airwaves next week.
Suffice to say Snoop will be busy, and says he has no plans to settle down his career like his rap counterpart Jay-Z. The interesting thing here will be to see what America thinks of him now that Snoop has apparently put two of his favorite pastimes to bed, which are being a pimp and running with his gang.
After watching many of his rap counterparts literally bite the bullet Snoop is content to make his money and settle down with his family. He still hasn't given up smoking marijuana, but he seems to be a changed man.
Mr. Calvin Broadus (his real name) is now done with his gangster ways and his pimping, though his pimping was merely something he says he did as a hobby between 2003 and 2004. During that time his wife filed for divorce, only to have Snoop come to his senses and reconcile the marriage.
From the looks of the preview he'll get strange yet admiring looks from his whitebread neighbors on a daily basis as he strolls the 'hood (that's Diamond Bar, by the way and not Beverly Hills) on his morning jaunt in his Crip blue uniform with two miniature dogs and a pit bull.
He'll sit down with the whole fam damily at Thanksgiving at an oversized table, along with his giant bodyguards and give thanks for what he has: more than most.
Yeah, I know it sounds weird coming from a guy whose musical career has been basically about pimping, being a gangster and shooting people. But people change and apparently hitting your mid-thirties is a good time to think about doing other things, like being a productive member of society, before you're dead.
And that brings us to the show. In Fatherhood, set to make its debut December 9, you will see Snoop at his finest, hangin' with his posse (that's his entourage for those of you uninclined) where you'll meet his immediate family. A quick look into the family's past brought up a rich musical history in jazz and gospel. And one of Snoop's aunts was a singer for the USO.
Keep it in the family and watch Snoop Dogg's Fatherhood starting in December on E!
