This supernatural series revolves around the life of Mick St. John who works in Los Angeles as a private investigator. He's not your ordinary private investigator either as he is harboring a deep secret that only a few people in his life are aware of.
The secret is that 60 years ago he was bitten by his bride which changed his life forever. He is now a vampire and for the rest of eternity, he will be 30 years old. Mick looks to do good in the world unlike other vampires and refuses to kill anyone to nourish himself thanks to a friend who just happens to work at a blood bank. Let's hope this friend doesn't lose his job.
So Mick comes out at night to fight crime and of course it's a lonely world out there for a vampire right? Enter the beautiful and yes mortal, Beth Turner. Mick saved her life when she was just a young girl and now she's all grown up. If Mick reveals his feelings to her, he must tell her about his secret. Will she accept him for who he is? You will have to watch "Moonlight" to find out.
"Moonlight" stars Alex O'Loughlin ("The Shield" and "Mary Bryant"), Sophia Myles ("Tristan + Isolde"), Jason Dohring ("Veronica Mars"), Shannyn Sossamon ("Dirt") and Brian J. White ("Ghost Whisperer"). "Moonlight" is executive produced by Chip Johannessen ("Dark Angel"), Ron Koslow ("Birds of Prey"), Trevor Munson and Joel Silver ("Veronica Mars").
Will "Moonlight" survive the round of television shows premiering this season? Let's look at the time slot. CBS was smart in airing it right after "Ghost Whisperer" hoping to draw in some of viewers who enjoy the supernatural. It's competition for a returning show is only one, "Friday Night Lights" on NBC. On Wikipedia, the response for the series so far has been bad by focus groups as well as critics and I don't know if this was before or after the major cast changes in June of this year. Obviously they thought the show needed work. I watched the promos on CBS's website and they seemed rather cheesy to me. I don't know how well it will do. I am a fan of "Ghost Whisperer" so I may be tuning in for this one but will they be able to keep me watching? I think that's question for everyone else. We'll see. "Moonlight" premieres on Friday, September 28th at 9pm et/pt on CBS.
