Fall TV: Desperate Housewives

Fall TV Preview

Morningstar
Last May, Desperate Housewives' third season finale ended with a MAJOR cliffhanger. The last glimpse we had of Edie (Nicolette Sheridan) was her feet, dangling, her body presumably in a noose. The question on everyone's mind is, does Edie live or die?

According to my boyfriend, a fellow watcher, "I don't think Edie dies, because she is in all of the previews." Yes, it is true that Edie is in the advertisements for the new season, but none of them show clips from the actual episode. My idea is they're only showing her because if they didn't, everyone would believe she would not be back. Keeping her in the commercials leaves us uncertain as to whether she is still a cast member, or if the commercials are just old.

Desperate Housewives is known for its crazy plot twists, so maybe Edie wasn't even hanging. Maybe she was still up in the noose, debating what to do. Or maybe it was some kind of mannequin. Nothing is too far fetched for Wisteria Lane.

My personal hope here, as morbid as I sound, is that Edie does die. She has to, to make room for Carlos and Gabby to reunite! What will happen is this:

Carlos will run in, eager to apologize to Edie. He will find her, dying, in the noose, and attempt to revive her. He will be unsuccessful, and mourn her loss. However, at the same time, Gabby's new husband, Victor, will either be killed since he is such an unpopular guy, or will suffer a heart attack. Or Gabby will realize what a jerk she married, and the entire marriage will be annulled. Something has to happen because I believe one of the goals of the new season is to reunite Gabby and Carlos. They belong together again. Carlos is more compassionate than he was at the beginning, and Gabby has grown up a bit too.

The new season is bound to bring a lot of great things!! Desperate Housewives has not disappointed me yet!
