Fall TV : Grey's Anatomy

Derek, Derek, Derek. Poor Derek. He tried to pull Meredith out of her self destructive life. But it wasn't enough. He just can't save her. He was desperate to try and get through to her that he loves her and can't leave her, he won't leave her. In his pleading with her, he softly utters just one word, "Meredith"...she responds by running away. Come on Meredith, give the guy a break! The new season of Grey's Anatomy opens on September 27, 2007 at 9pm/8 Central on ABC. The season premiere episode is titled" A Change Is Gonna Come". I wonder where Derek and Meredith's relationship is headed in this new season. Is the coming change about their relationship? Is he finally giving Meredith an ultimatum?

We left off last season with Lexie Grey, apologizing to Meredith in the hospital. Derek just happens to be standing near them. Derek realizes that this girl looks familiar. Then he says to her "you are the girl from the bar". Meredith hears this and states "I'm the girl from the bar" and storms away. You can see the wheels turning in Derek's head. Lexie tells Derek that her sister hates her. Sister? Who... Meredith? She explains that she is Meredith's sister...half sister. What has he gotten himself into now? Isn't this the way it all started with Meredith? Doctor meets girl in the bar. Doctor sleeps with girl. Doctor sees girl at the hospital where he works. Talk about awkward. Is Lexie going to be the new McMeredith? Is Dr. McDreamy going to go after a much younger intern?

Hopefully Meredith will find a way to grow away from her gloom filled existence and come into a happy place with Derek. They have been through so much. She gave her heart to him and he ended up rejecting her. He poured out his love to her and she fled. Was this the turning point in their relationship? How much more can he take? Meredith was drowning in her world. Then she literally almost drowned and Derek saved her. Is he still going to try and save her? Or will he find a new co-worker to focus on? After all this show seems to concentrate on Doctors hooking up with their co-workers in love triangles.

In real life, Dr. McDreamy, Patrick Demsey, is happily married to wife Jillian, who just gave birth in February to twin boys named Sullivan and Darby. He also has a five-year-old daughter named Talula.

We will be watching to see if his character will ever find his happily ever after on the show.
