Fall TV: "The Office" Season 4 Spoilers

AC Contributer
NBC's hit show, The Office, comes back with new episodes for the loyal fans of the Dunder Mifflin team on Thursday, September 27th at 9/8c. The fourth season of The Office is going to start off bigger than ever with hour long episodes the first four weeks.

Season 3 of The Office left viewers wondering if Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) might finally start dating, if Karen (Rashida Jones) actually got dumped by Jim because the audience did not actually see it happen before he asked Pam out, if Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) and the now unemployed Jan (Melora Hardin) are going to live together, if Ryan (B.J. Novak) will become Michael's boss from hell now that he has Jan's job at corporate, and fans are always wondering what Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Angela (Angela Kinsey), Meredith (Kate Flannery), Andy (Ed Helms), Phyllis (Phyllis Lapin), Stanley (Leslie Baker), Creed (Creed Bratton), Toby (Paul Lieberstein), Oscar (Oscar Nunez), Kevin (Brian Baumgartner), and Kelly (Mindy Kaling) will get into next.

The first episode of the fourth season of The Office is called "Fun Run". A freak accident leads Michael to believe that the office is cursed. Michael then explores the religious beliefs of his employees before deciding to hold a 5k fun run for charity. Michael is as ridiculous as ever. The t-shirts for the event read, "Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro Am Fun Run Race for the Cure".

Although it is called the Meredith Palmer Memorial, we don't think that the writers have killed off our favorite office drunk. Fans will recall that in the sixteenth episode of the third season Dwight discovers that a bat is trapped in the vents and gets loose in the office. Meredith is confined to the bathroom because the bat is flying around trapped in the break room. Eventually she tries to come out, the bat gets stuck in her hair, and Dwight puts a garbage bag over her head. It is possible that Meredith was bitten by the bat during that incident even though it was never revealed.

In Season 4 we will be seeing Michael and Jan together again. She lost her job at Dunder Mifflin, but won Michael back with her new assets-her new breasts. Jan moves into Michael's condo and they begin to rekindle their romance.

Fans have been anxiously waiting to see Jim and Pam together. According to executive producer Greg Daniels, "It's not necessarily what (fans) want to happen or think is going to happen, but I don't think we'll have an angry mob on our hands." We will be seeing less of Jim's ex-girlfriend, Karen who also works in the office with Jim and Pam. We should finally find out what happened to Karen at the end of the third season finale. Karen will be back for the first few episodes to make Jim's life hell because she never got to have her say. Expect Karen to come back, say her peace, and then slap them in the face on the way out. After three seasons of pressure for Jim and Pam to get together, we will probably see the star-crossed lovers enjoying the ups, and hopefully surviving the downs, of being a couple. It will be interesting to see what they are like in a relationship. There will likely be some sort of awkwardness that both characters will feel because of the situation. The writers will a lot of fun with it.

Also, expect to see some other office romances at Dunder Mifflin. Kelly was unceremoniously dumped by Ryan in the season 3 finale, leaving her single again. Toby is expected to finally have a romance of his own; his divorce and personal life is frequently the butt of Michael's cruel jokes. Andy is always on the prowl for a lady. Dwight and Angela think they have managed to keep their relationship a secret, but both Jim and Pam have known about it.

Fans will be delighted to know that they will get to see even more of Andy and warehouse supervisor, Darryl this season. Both Ed Helms and Craig Robinson have been made full-time regulars.

Ryan is played by B.J. Novak who is also a writer on the show. We will find out that Ryan has really embraced the corporate life. He will likely make Michael's life hell in the coming months. We will have to see if Michael holds a grudge against Ryan since Ryan was a temp, then salesman "who never made a sale", and now he is Michael's boss. Expect sparks to fly. Michael might be in some denial about the whole situation and continue to think of Ryan as his really good-looking friend. Michael has made many comments about how handsome he thinks Ryan is.

One of the most popular elements of the show is Dwight Schrute. Season 4 is supposed to have more Dwight than ever. Hopefully fans will see Jim and Dwight battle as they did in the second season.

NBC has released a promotional video with each of the characters talking about what they did over the summer. The fourth season will pick up exactly two months after the third season finale ended. The video begins with Michael in his office telling the cameras that Jan moved into his "crib". Dwight, always serious and lurking behind Michael, says that he got an infection from contaminated ground water and almost died. Dwight goes on to add, "Fact: an improperly dug outhouse is more dangerous than a loaded gun." Michael cringes and tells Dwight, "Your life is just so disgusting."

Jim does not give anything away as to whether or not he and Pam are now a couple. Jim only tells us that over the summer Michael went through a phase where he started calling him Jimmy because Michael always wanted a friend or a dog named Jimmy.

Karen comes on next saying that her summer was pretty good and that she went to a lot of movies. She then adds, "Oh, and Jim dumped my ass and left me crying by a fountain in New York City."

Pam comes on next and is visibly different. She now wears her hair down instead of pulled back in a barrette. She is still trying to be the 'new Pam' much like she was last season, so expect to see even more changes with her character. Pam says that with her hair down she is "already 30% more unpredictable".

Michael then reappears in the next clip and tells us that he saw Ratatouille this summer, but walked out of the theater because he "didn't buy it".

Angela went to the Pocono's over the summer with a "gentleman friend". She tells us that her male companion shot something and she doesn't want to talk about it.

Phyllis says that she and Bob Vance finally received their wedding gift from Michael. It was a place setting, but not one that they registered for. She says that she and Bob now have seven beautiful settings in white and one that is Transformers.

Andy says that he went tubing starting in Scranton while Kevin talks about learning to water ski. Ryan says that he has really embraced the corporate life and doesn't really remember what his life was like back in Scranton. He says, "I think I dated a black girl."

Kelly appears next and says that she is really happy for Ryan. She says that he has changed so much. Kelly reveals that Ryan was a virgin when they were together-or at least he seemed like one to her.

The video is about three minutes long and will absolutely get fans excited for the fourth season. See the video for yourself through NBC's website at this address http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/video/#mea=150375. Don't forget that the fourth season starts on Thursday, September 27th at 9/8c. The first four episodes of the new season will each be an hour long.
