Fall TV Preview: NBC's The Office

bb42
Well can you believe that the new Fall season is about ready to start? Summer is over already! One of my most absolute favorite television shows right now is "The Office". I have never watched the UK version but had heard excellent reviews so when I heard a version would be showing here in the US, I made sure to catch it. After the first episode aired, I was hooked and apparently so was America. The humor was right up my alley. It was very different from a lot of the sitcoms out there. The fourth season of "The Office" will be premiering on Thursday, September 27th and I can't wait. Let's take a look at where the third season left us and my predictions for the quirky characters of "The Office".

Where We Left Off

Okay where do I begin? Ah yes, the cliffhanger that left viewers with baited breath. Jim asked Pam out on a date and she said yes! Isn't Jim and Karen still together? I believe the actress that plays Karen who is Rashida Jones is getting another gig so a breakup here might be inevitable. Anyway, I digress. So leading up to Pam accepting Jim's invitation, there were 4 people from the Scranton branch competing for a position at Corporate. They were Jim, Karen, Michael and Ryan (who in real life works behind the scenes of this beloved show). Michael immediately is out of the running. The interviews with Jim and Karen went great but in the end, it was Ryan that walked away with the job.

Did I mention that the job Ryan would be doing is Jan's? Yes Jan was fired. But right before that, she told Michael she wanted to get back together. Michael was going to be strong (the girls in the office were backing him up) and tell Jan that it wouldn't work out until she took off her coat and revealed her new breast implants. Then suddenly they are in a relationship again. Now that she is fired, their relationship will be her full time job and oh yeah, Michael being the Einstein that he is, asks her to move in with him. Does he even have a place to live? He says he will take the auction for his condo down off of eBay, who cares if he gets negative feedback?!

Predictions

Let's start first with the love affair that is Pam and Jim. They won't make it easy for them, it's suicide for a sitcom. More obstacles will be put in their path and I think the start of this romance will be short lived. Michael and Jan won't last either because he'll be needed for his idiocy in the office. Dwight? Well he'll just become more absurd, if that is at all humanly possible. Right now I believe only Pam (possibly Jim??) is aware of the romance between him and Angela. I predict another co-worker or two will find out about it, maybe even Michael who you know will accidentally leak the information to everyone. Dwight and Andy formed a bit of a bond in the finale but I'm sure they will eventually go back to competing for Michael's attention. That's all I got! Let's see how everything plays out. I can't wait until the premiere of "The Office"!
