Fall TV: "Rock of Love's" Heather Speaks Out

The Jilted Rock of Love Finalist Gives Fans Her Side of the Story

Well "Rock of Love" fans, the first season of our favorite new reality show is over. After weeks or catfights, rumbles in the mud, and hot kisses in the sunset, the final episode of "Rock of Love" appeared on Sunday, October 1. Though a weekend of hot excitement in Cabo San Lucas left rock star Bret Michaels drained, due to yet another bought with Diabetes, he mustered his strength in the final moments and announced to the world that Jes Rickleff, the sweet hairdresser/bartender from Naperville, and not Heather Chadwell, the stripper from Las Vegas, would be the girl he chose as his "rock of love". At the end of the episode, a heartbroken Heather told the world what she thought of Bret Michaels and his choice, and it wasn't very pretty. After storming out of the Hollywood Hills mansion, Heather explained her heartbreak in what can only be described as a string of expletives, given to the audience as a seemingly never-ending run of "beeps", but we got the picture. Now, after the smoke has cleared, and the confidentiality curtain has been lifted, Heather speaks out. She had a few choice words about final episode, "Rock of Love" as a show, and how she was portrayed.

Heather Chadwell only has one blog entry on her Myspace page, and it is all about "Rock of Love". In the final episode, audiences may have gotten the impression that during Heather and Bret's date at the sand dunes, Heather was acting insensitively when Bret announced that he was feeling sick. It seemed that Heather ignored his pleas to stop riding the buggy and get something to eat. However, Heather wants fans of the show so keep in mind that editing had a large part to play in the final episode and in the rest of "Rock of Love" as well. She states that when Bret said that he wasn't feeling well, "we stopped and I went and got him some water", and that is was Bret, not she, who wanted to continue the buggy ride. She goes on to tell her fans that there were several other things that were edited out of the show, including Heather making Bret breakfast in bed frequently, buying gifts in Cabo for Bret and his daughters, and the balloons and roses she got for Bret on his birthday. After all that Heather did for Bret, she was extremely hurt by his decision to start a relationship with Jes. She states, "No, I wasn't the skinniest one or the prettiest one, but I was honest and I gave him my heart." All of the editing in the show has really put the jilted Heather through some tough emotional turmoil, making her stay up late at night, crying because of how she was portrayed.

Lastly, Heather wants to make one thing perfectly clear to fans of the show. Before Bret made his announcement about which of the two girl he chose, he asked them if both would consider being his girlfriend, and it seemed that Heather said "yes". In response to that scene she says, "I absolutely, 100%, did not say I would share him. We both said no. That was edited and I was so appalled by that."

Well, the "Rock of Love" reunion show will air in one week, on October 7 on VH1, and will bring back all of the contestants one last time for a last chance at sounding off about their experience. After Heather's final words at the finale and her blog entry, I'm sure that she'll have a lot to say.

I've always said that he should have chosen her. I don't think it's love he's after...it's publicity.
