Fall Wedding Color Trends: Burgundy and Brown Bridesmaid Dresses

J. Darling
Fall is a wonderful time of year to plan a wedding. Milder temperatures and the gorgeous changing colors of autumn foliage make either having an indoor or an outdoor ceremony possible without the threat of high summer temperatures or inclement winter weather. When planning the wedding, one of the most important details is selecting a color combination and this fall gives couples a number of gorgeous autumn wedding colors from which to choose. Typically fall weddings embrace deep autumnal hues and two hot colors for fall weddings are burgundy and brown. Once a final color scheme is chosen the selections for bridesmaid's dresses must be made. One hot wedding trend is not to dress every bridesmaid in the same exact dress, but to allow each lady to wear a dress in the same color but a different style, because when it comes to formal wear there isn't always a style that flatters all body types. You may want to specify a particular shop for your bridesmaids to purchase their dresses and communicate any other stipulations you have about the dresses. You may decide that you want each bridesmaid to wear a cocktail length or full length dress or a particular fabric. You may even want them to mix up the lengths and fabrics of their dresses.

Burgundy Bridesmaid Dresses
Burgundy is a deep, bold red that looks great when combined with white, black, gold or silver accents. The Dessy Group offers a large selection of bridesmaids dresses in a variety of colors and styles and they have many burgundy dresses from which to choose. Two wonderful burgundy bridesmaid gowns on this site are this full length strapless gown with a trumpet skirt and shirred silhouette and this gorgeous cocktail length gown with a shirred bodice. This gown also has floral detailing at the shoulder, which would look fabulous when paired with one of the matching floral headpieces offered on the site.

Brown Bridesmaid Dresses
Brown is a very popular color for weddings during the fall. There are many shades of brown, so there is no need to worry about your bridesmaids looking drab in brown dresses. The brown color family includes lighter shades like champagne to darker shades like mocha, chocolate, or espresso. Brown can be combined with accent colors such as turquoise, mint green, and cream. David's Bridal is another shop which offers dresses of different styles in the same color. One bridesmaid could wear an elegant strapless chiffon gown with an empire waist like this one and another lovely bridesmaid could wear a different cocoa colored dress, such as this tea length strapless gown with a rhinestone belt.

These are just two of fall's most popular bridesmaid dress color trends, and luckily there are many stores like The Dessy Group and David's Bridal which offer a variety of styles in the same color so bridesmaids have more options when choosing flattering and wearable gowns.
