Fallen Pieces

Some Believe Everything Has a Spirit, Does that Mean Trees Feel?

Ask the question do they feel anything
when a piece of them falls to the ground?
Just because our ears hear nothing
doesn't mean they don't scream.

Though their age may be high in years
and their bodies growing frail
Doesn't mean they don't shed tears
when gazing upon the pieces.

Some may say it's just like losing hair
there is no pain at all
But seeing a branch just lying there
seems to me, like losing an arm

...like losing an arm. Nice. Thank goodness ambulation and digital manipulation does not seem to issues for trees.
