Falling for Autumn

Lori Lane
The ravens, bats, spiders on scarecrows come out to play as witches, warlocks, and wizards use magic in their game.

Adults and children in masks with pitchforks and brooms. Or forked tongues on those whom speak too soon. Fearing the scary. Which one will scare two? The one behind a costume. I think that is you.

Yes, you...

Fall into crisp autumn air of the season. There are many reasons to explore. Pumpkins from patches, hayrides for catching, costumes a fright. Need I say more?

Yes, I shall...

So suddenly she can pass us all. Yet there's something expanding towards winter my friend. It is autumn's love dancing, romancing the fall.

Yes, love...

So, yes, you I shall love my pillow of orange, dash of yellow, whites, browns, and black. For months you're loyal like a squirrel, always coming back. But not to falter a being. Not to halt a task. Merely unconditional when conditions tend to lack.

This thing called an autumn, or delicate fall, gives much more reasons to share thanks with all. So to wrap up the sequence, and I gladly concur, from falling leaves on Halloween costumes to thankful herds. From corn to pumpkins not to mention the freakiest things - green zombies, black cats, a white Rodney King.

Then time does pass and out comes appreciation. A time to thanketh everyone because you lived long enough to enjoy Breast Cancer Month. Awareness of autumn, harvesting the moon's delight before the winter seduces autumn then autumn falls out of sight. Before.

So, yes, you I shall love.

Falling for autumn.
