Last night I met a stranger
But it seemed like déjà vu.
As we began to talk,
A familiar voice shined through.
When we said goodbye I said, "It was a pleasure to get to know you."
She responded by saying,
"I am a mirror and the reflection is the true you."

Post a CommentSimple, precise but says much. Excellent!
i like the plot twist that you added. the poem sucked me right in and then you dropped the hook
Fantastic poem!!!!!!!!!
Nice ;o)
What a powerful message. You have quite the talent for imagery and for touching the soul.
Short but sweet. Many of us could use this poem's lesson. Why can't we just be happy with ourselves, and appreciate the very things that make us who we are? Nice work! And thanks for your nice comment on my piece.
Oh, I do so much love the hook at the end! Excellent!!! Have you seen the movies "Perfect Stranger" or "Another Perfect Stranger"? If not, check them out online. They are my two favorite movies of all time and they are excellently produced by Christians. And the stranger? Well, it's Jesus, silly!
This is amazing! You write wonderful poetry.
I love meeting strangers, having a small talk and connection. It's like maybe the only time you will ever cross that souls path. It's a unique feeling.
Simple, yet powerful at the same time. Excellent as always. :-)
