Family Activities for New Year's Eve in the Kettering - Dayton Ohio Area

It's almost 2010! New Years Eve is right around the corner and you still don't have plans for your family? If you are in the Kettering-Dayton Ohio area that is not a problem. The problem will be choosing which events or events you would like to attend.

You might want to start out at the Kettering Recreation Center. From 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 31^st the Rec Center has a wide selection of activities for the whole family. Admission is only $15 for the whole family and includes LaRosa's pizza and popcorn. Other concession food items will be available for separate purchase. You can choose from swimming, ice skating or both. If that is not enough the gym will also be open and there will be games and activities for everyone. You can also receive an admission discount. The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery also has a New Years party event on Wednesday the 30th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be dancing, laser light shows, karaoke and games for everyone. If your family would prefer a less active type of event the Dayton Philharmonic offers a concert at the Schuster Center. This annual New Year's Eve concert is presented by the Kettering Health Network. The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday the 31^st. Tickets are still available and range in price from $17 to $69. This concert is geared for families with older children and more information can be found directly from their website.

For the teenagers in the family, The Attic will be having an event starting at 7:00p.m. Several musical guest are scheduled and ticket prices are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. While listening to great music teens can also enjoy a game of pool and food is available. The facility is well monitored for safety and can provide a full evening of entertainment. The Spaghetti Warehouse on W. Fifth St. in Dayton has an interactive theater show on the 31^st. The theme for this show is "I'll be home shopping for Christmas" and is a family friendly event. The cost for dinner and theater is $23.95. For more information and reservations call 937-461-3913.
