Family Beach Vacation Ideas: Beach Fun for Families

Beach vacations are great fun. There is so much to do and yet it is so relaxing that the whole family can get just what they need. Here are some great ideas for a vacation at the beach.

Great Sand Toys To Take Along:
Digging giant holes and building huge sandcastles are a great deal of fun for the whole the family no matter what the age.
Mesh Bag: Available at Toys R Us: These bags will allow the sand to fall out and will carry a large amount of toys with ease.
Shovels: Three foot plastic sand shovels. These are a great digging tool. They bring lots of joy to the whole family. You will also need a few a few smaller shovels.
Buckets: Bring a few in different sizes with handles. These will give your family large and small great joy.
A bag of toy soldiers: A inexpensive bag of soldiers will keep your children eleven and under busy for hours. They will bury them and dig them up. They will create castles for them to live in and you will find time to read or lay quietly in the sun.

Commonly forgotten necessary items:
Beach Chairs one per person: The days of children resting on a blanket on the sand are outdated. If you leave the kids seats at home they will snatch yours every time you walk away.
Towels: One per person
Camera: Water proof disposable cameras are a great way to get some terrific shots without risking damage or theft to your expensive digital camera.
Sun Block: The spray on type is a great follow to for after your family has been on the beach for several hours.
A Water Proof Case: to hold your keys and money. They come in necklace form or in belt form and are a great safety feature to ensure safety for the keys and cash.
Sunglasses & Hats: keep the sun out of your eyes. Remember a hat or a pair of sunglasses for you and the kids.

Great Water Toys:
Body Board: These are excellent fun board for any level swimmer. You will need to be sure that the beach allows them to be used in the section of beach that you will be visiting. Kid fun is a must and this item will be a hit.
Football: Fun in the water and out. Invite others to join you and suddenly you will be having an all out great time.
Skim Board: A wooden board that is used to surf the edge of the wave just at the shore line. Its sorta like skateboarding on water.
A fishing net on a pole: This is probably the biggest hit among the kids (especially boys). The net will cost $10.00 or less and can be purchased at any fishing supply store. It will bring your kids and family hours of fun to catch crabs, turtles, fish and even shells, pieces of logs and pretty stones.

A day at the beach is probably one of the most memorable experiences that a family will have. The blowing wind, the Sunny sky, the sand on your towel, the ice cream sandwich sold by the walking vendor all will bring reoccurring smiles as you remember back on this special day.
