If you are keeping your family cloth hidden and someone happens to discover it, this could be a learning experience for that person. Keep things nice and simple. Explain what it is, how it is used, and why you have made this choice for your family.
When they being to ask questions about if it is clean, or safe, just keep your calm. Explain to them and say that yes it is clean and yes it is safe. If you would like, you can use the process that I have used in another article that I have done. Ask them have they or a child every gotten sick or pooped on an article of their clothing. Then asked what they did with the clothing that was soiled. I am sure that they are going to respond that they washed it and wore it at a later time. Tell them that you are doing the same process here with washing and reusing. Remember to keep it simple and be friendly about it. If you take offense to what they are asking about you might make them angry.
If you have your family cloth out in the open for everyone to see, you could make a cute little sign to explain what the family cloth is. Let your house guest know that they are free to use it. Make sure that in the note you explain where to put the dirty cloth at and what method you are using for wetting the cloths. Most people do keep toilet paper for house guest to use in case they feel uncomfortable using the family cloth. Keeping the note short and simple will help explain your choices and also inform them. Since some guest might be too shy to ask about what it is, this will inform them without making them uncomfortable to ask.
Good luck with Family Cloth!
