If you love your home furnishings you will spend more time there. Your family living area should be inviting. Select a space in your home to entertain. If your space is limited select the area with the most seating. Put up pictures of family members and friends that you would love to entertain in that space.
If your home surroundings are cluttered or not decorated, use free resources on-line to locate your inner designer. Discount stores such as The Dollar Tree, Target, and Wal-Mart all have low cost home decor. Goodwill, Salvation Army, and other charity organizations routinely have high quality home items, dishes, games, and furniture available at a deep discount.
Be Prepared.
Place your dishes that are for entertaining in one cabinet. If paper or plastic suite you, slowly stock up on these items and have them all in one place for quick easy access. Purchase extra beverages when they are on sale. Tuck these items away from your normal pantry.
Games
If your family does not have any favorite games, start playing. Choose games and activities that require you to actually speak and communicate with someone. Games that are great at developing coordination skills are ping pong. A good investment is a pool table. You can purchase a ping pong table top that opens up and covers the pool table for game time. This is a great way to maximize your space in a game room. Teaching your spouse, friends, or family how to play card games, chess, and strategy is a great way to get to know more about your loved ones.
Outdoors
Volleyball, basketball, football, baseball, and soccer are a great way to get a bit of exercise and involve others in fun activity. Select any sport, where the equipment can be stored in your storage space and played within your outdoor area.
You may be wondering where you would get the extra money to entertain at home. Simple, choose not to pay for entertainment outside of your home regularly. Spending $50 a week on one night of pizza delivery and a few dvd rentals may not seem like much. However $50 spent 40 weeks out of the year is $2000. $2000 is a great budget to start your entertaining journey. This is a great start to purchasing a pool table, home theater equipment, furniture, or anything that makes entertaining at home easier.
Create a night of fun. You do not have to invite other people over all of time. Ask your children, teenagers, or spouse what new sports or games they want to try. This may uncover talent in your family members. Having fun often with your family will help you to grow closer as a family.
