You have one who stuffs himself with food and drink, and plays with toys so he won't have to think.
There's another who pretends to be, holier than thou; but it is a scam, it's obvious for everyone to see.
One tried to leave this world, filled with emptiness and insecurity; so they paid someone to fill them up, not emotionally but physically.
One drinks and hides the truth, and changes their personality; they're not the same person they were, they're different, they will always be.
My family is looking better each and every day; they love you unconditionally, no matter what you say.
They don't keep secrets or keep you out of the loop; you are just as important to them as if you were part of their own coop.
I hope you know you're not alone, though the others have abandoned you, we're always home.
Your truly family is not related by DNA or blood; we're family by the definition, because we give you love.
We are your family now, the ones who will be with you for life. We won't judge you for your wrinkles; when it comes to your looks, we won't give you strife.
You're perfect as you are, as God created you to be; anyone who alters themselves plainly cannot see.
Family comes in all shapes and sizes, and loves you for who you are; you don't have to be the prettiest, the most handsome, or a star.
So when I hear what's happening to you, it breaks my heart to see; you have to question those you were given...family - what family?
They know nothing of the sort; no depth, no care, no love. They cannot see you as you are, the peacemaker, the lonesome dove.
I feel sorry for them for they will never see, the wonderful person you are, a real man who knows the definition of family.
You do not judge, critique or hurt; you're nothing like the others; sometimes I think the hospital switched not babies, but mothers.
You're more like mine, compassionate and kind, a soul that we're blessed to know. So I'm cutting out the toxicity, the poison I'm letting go.
I've learned through life's lessons that cancer can grow fast; so I'm looking to the future, and forgetting the past.
Those people who are not true and bring nothing but hate to me; they are not the true definition of family.
I am grateful to have love without conditions thrust upon; the days of worrying about them will soon be gone.
They are sad and pathetic and in need of therapy; I hope one day they find what they are looking for, an inner peace that will leave them be.
Maybe then they will finally see, the definition of the word family.
