Family Favorite Kids' Commercials from the 1990s

k. ferguson
The following kid's commercials originally aired in the 1990s and are my family's favorites. We all have hilarious memories of all of these commercials and enjoyed watching them when we were teenagers. Some include children, but since these involve candy, soda and McDonalds, they are great for kids of all ages. Enjoy!

Pace Picante Sauce
www.youtube.com

This household favorite is a hilarious commercial from the 90's. Remember the line, in a southern drawl, "New York City? Get a rope!" Yes, this is that commercial. It is a running gag every time we purchase any kind of salsa or picante. View it for yourself and get a good belly laugh!

Holiday Coca Cola Trucks
www.youtube.com

'Tis the season to see holiday Coca Cola trucks ride a long the highways. I remember when these commercials first aired and I have been searching the roads every holiday season, waiting for these magical trucks to come to town. They are few and far between now, but at least the commercial still lives on YouTube.com. These lighted trucks bring even more magic of Christmas and the holiday season alive. It is one of those 'feel good' commercials that will stand the test of time in my house.

Chefs- Snickers
www.youtube.com

Snickers commercials ruled in the 1990's. They were absolutely hilarious. This particular one stars the old timer painting the end zone for the pending Chiefs football game. After finishing, and wiping his brow, he is proud of his accomplishment, but all that changes when a player comes over and asks the unforgettable question "Hey, that's great, but who's the chefs?" The commercial ends with our favorite phrase of all time "Great googily moogily".

Batman-Snickers

Another great Snickers commercial that will never die in our house. When we first saw this commercial, my husband (then boyfriend) mimicked the stunned football player so well, that even today we tease him about being "Batman". You need to see this commercial and turn the sound up. It is worth it. I will never think about bumping my head the same ever again

The Showdown Larry Bird vs Michael Jordan. (Part 1 and part 2)
www.youtube.com

This is the absolute best commercial set of the 1990's. Remember the phrase 'Nothing but net'? This is the infamous Larry Bird and Michael Jordan competing to eat a Big Mac and fries. Who ever wins, gets to eat it in front of the other. This one is so funny; I played it multiple times just to get a great laugh. It is now book-marked on my computer so I have it whenever I need a great laugh, or to start a competition with my kids.
