Who hasn't met a child that doesn't like dinosaurs? Party prehistoric style at the Omaha Children's Museum (http://ocm.org) A dinosaur themed New Year's Eve celebration with fun crafts, food and a bubble wrap stomp. The Children's Museum is sure to be a hot spot for those seeking a family friendly New Years Eve event so call ahead or check their website for hours and admission details.

The Durham Museum located in Union Station at 801 South 10th Street is hosting a New Years Eve party for children ages 5 through 11 from 10:00am to noon. Children will enjoy games and snacks while learning how other people around the world celebrate the new year. The fun will include a ball drop at noon and making party favors. Ice, ice baby!
Con Agra Foods ice rink is located at 10th and Harney streets is open on December 31st from 1:00 pm to 5:00pm and is a slick family friendly way to celebrate New Years Eve. There are collection bins at the rink for non perishable foods which will be donated to The Food Bank as part of the Shine the Light on Hunger campaign. A five dollar fee is charged for admission and includes skate rental.
The big boom!
The Gene Leahy Mall is found at 14th street and Farnam and might just be the sweet spot for family friendly New Years Eve events. First National Bank is presenting the area's largest New Years Eve fireworks display from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and is free to the public. You can tune your radio to 104.5 fm for music choreographed in time with the dazzling fireworks. That is certain to be a spectacular sight.
