Where to Stay
When traveling with a large family, the easiest way to get to the Lincoln Memorial is to take the Metro bus from an area hotel, or by taking the Tourmobile from one of the other sites at the National Mall and Memorial Parks. The memorial is located in Potomac Park, and within easy reach of several family-friendly hotels in the area including the Channel Inn, the Holiday Inn Washington-Capitol and the JW Marriott Washington, DC.

Whether you're looking for a classic American burger or a pizza place, you'll find that many restaurants near the Lincoln Memorial are actually located inside area hotels and commerce buildings. Founding Farmers on Pennsylvania Avenue serves breakfast and brunch, and a home-style menu that caters to kids. Take the family out for lunch at the Blue Duck Tavern inside the Park Hyatt hotel for gourmet sandwiches, fresh soups and salads. What to Do
You'll find a number of other historic attractions and cultural sites beyond the National Mall, and many are within walking distance or a short drive from the Lincoln Memorial. Visit the Albert Einstein Memorial to see the bronze statue of the famous scientist and inventor . Spend a few hours at the Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum to see the world's largest collection of spacecraft and aviation equipment . Kids of all ages will also enjoy the cultural and historic exhibits at the National Geographic Society.
