Family TV Shows Both Parents and Kids Can Enjoy Together

These days there seem to be more television shows that are geared towards adults rather than families with kids, making it difficult for families to sit down together any more and watch a show together. There are some television shows, however, that will please both parents and kids. Here is a look at three television shows that are family friendly that both parents and kids will like to watch.

For parents who have young toddlers in their home, a show that is enduring and fun is Max and Ruby, often found on Nick Jr. Max and Ruby is a cartoon that features the adventures of two little bunnies who are brother and sister. Ruby is the older sister who is always trying to look out for her little brother while Max is the funny, mischievous little brother with a good heart. The best part about the show is how it teaches kids how to get along and parents and kids will laugh together at the predicaments Max and Ruby often find themselves in.

Parents who have older children ages 6 and up will love watching Disney's Phineas and Ferb. Phineas and Ferb is a cartoon based on two brothers who try to come up with a different plan for each day of the summer. The show is innocent fun that includes their older sister who is constantly trying to "bust" her younger brother's schemes. Added into the mix is Perry the Platypus their pet who leads a secret life as a secret agent who is always interfering with the plans of not-so-evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz. This cartoon is full of action and humor kids and parents will enjoy.

Lastly for parents with kids ages 8 and older will enjoy the antics of Disney XD's I'm in the Band. This show talks about a 15 year old boy Tripp who rocks out on his guitar and has dreams of showing the world his skills. After winning a dinner with his favorite rock band Iron Weasel, he gets his chance. Iron Weasel is made up of three middle-aged, funny, has-been musicians that strangely end up as unlikely mentors for the young Tripp as he goes through high school. Tired of living in their van, they get offered a place to stay in the guest room of Tripp and his mom's house. The show is fun and lively and the characters win over both parents and kids. It's one of the few shows that pre-teen kids feel "cool" watching with their parents.
