Family Values, Morals and Hypocrites

Yes, conservatives are hypocrites! Newt Gingrich cheated on his wife while criticizing Bill Clinton's cheating. Rush Limbaugh criticized drug abuse while he had his own little drug problem.

But then there are liberal hypocrites: Al Gore flies around the world in a Lear jet, while telling others we must conserve energy. Obama calls for fiscal responsibility while outspending all previous presidents.

Hypocrites!

No one likes a hypocrite! But every human being is a hypocrite to some extent. Have you ever told a lie? Have you told your children lying is wrong? See what I mean?

Sure, it is always best to lead by example, but what if you slip and fall? Should you resign? Or should you get back on track?

If you stop and think about it, the charge of "hypocrisy" is hypocritical in and of itself. The only way to avoid being a hypocrite is to live a life of total decadence and be proud of it!

If you are opposed to decadence to even a small extent, you have just joined the club of hypocrites--the human race.

Imagine yourself living a life that is 99% pure and chaste. Then one fateful day you do something stupid, that goes against all your principals. Boy you really blew it! However, are your principals now wrong? Should they be tossed out the window? Well yes if you don't want to be labeled a hypocrite.

If some reporter asks you if you believe in morals, family values and all that good stuff, you best tell him it's all bat dung in a cold dark cave, and then light up your crack pipe. For heaven's sake don't tell him you think morals and family values are good things for people to have. 'Cause if you do that...

YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A HYPOCRITE!

Don't apologize for your sins and try to get your life back on track, because that's an admission of guilt and surely people will say...

YOU'RE JUST A NO-GOOD HYPOCRITE!

If you are a parent and you abuse drugs, be sure to tell your kids of the virtue of sticking a straw up your nose. Tell them of the ecstasy of injecting a needle into a main artery. And don't forget to give them your homeboy's cell phone number.

The worst thing you can do is tell your kids that drugs will ruin their lives. If you do that...

YOU'RE A CRACK-HO HYPOCRITE!

That goes for all your other bad habits too! Always tell young people that you believe in what you are doing. Don't ever tell them it is wrong.

HOWEVER...according to Webster...the definition of hypocrite is as follows: "One who pretends to be pious, virtuous, etc. without really being so."

That being the case, one ought to be able to avoid the charge of hypocrisy if one admits one's shortcomings. The mere fact one stands behind family values and morality, etc, but occasionally stumbles, makes one human--not a hypocrite.
