Come out and celebrate the Festival of Lights with these four family-friendly activities in Providence, Rhode Island:

Thursday, November 20

Located on the East Side of Providence, the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island is a diverse neighborhood center for fitness, events, childcare, cultural enrichment and developing a sense of community. With a pool, fitness classes, childcare hours, a group exercise center as well as a Mind Body Center, the JCCRI offers a sense of Jewish community but is not limited to only members of that community. The JCCRI invites all Rhode Island residents to stop by and see what the space has to offer. A great way to get an introduction to the JCCRI is on November 20 for the Hanukkah Workshop. Learn what the holiday is all about and meet new people.

Shira Kline and her band, ShirLaLa will perform "outrageously hip Jewish music for kids" for Hanukkah. Kosher food available for purchase at 5:30 PM, concert begins at 6:30 PM. Coordinated by PJ Library Partners and the Bureau of Jewish Education of RI. Free, in the Social Hall.

Rick Recht, the top-touring Jewish musician who performs over 125 coast-to-coast concerts yearly, will perform at an all-ages family concert at Temple Beth-El. This is one high-energy family concert that is interactive and great for all ages. With lots of movement and motion, plus encouraged singing from the audience, hyperactive children will get a kick out of Recht's show. In addition to songs from his newly released album, Knocking Holes In The Darkness, Recht will be presenting hits from his other hit Jewish rock albums. Rick Recht's music is a unique blend of English lyrics and Hebrew, based on Jewish text and themes of social responsibility.
