Power Struggles, Good Genes & Sibling Rivalry

Sherri Granato
Call it sibling rivalry or chalk it up to good genes, no matter how you sum it up, many famous celebrities have a sibling that has either made it to celebrity status right along with their sibling or they are currently attempting to make it big by grasping onto the shirttails of their already famous sister or brother.

Some of these famous siblings were born into the celebrity status simply because their famous relative had already made their mark on Hollywood and the proverbial door had already been left open for them. Choosing a career in the movie industry was an obvious choice as this is all that they know and live every day of their lives. Other siblings have followed the path to stardom naturally because of the success that they have watched happen to the person that they are connected to by blood.

Unfortunately for many of these siblings it is a power struggle to rise to the success level that their famous brother or sister has endured, but it is not from a lack of trying. Many depend on the connections that their siblings have, while others are just not considered as good as their celebrity sibling. They settle for smaller parts in the movie industry or other venues holding onto the hope that they will be deemed just as talented and famous.

In the last several decades Tinseltown has become flooded with celebrity talent from people who share the same name or bloodline, and recently there has been a real explosion of sibling celebrities that are making their mark in everything from sports, music, and movies. The list is endless, but some of the more famous household names include Hollywood celebrities, royalty, sports, and any other industries that we cannot seem to get enough of.

Great topic. Wouldn't you hate to have a silbing that was a best seller novelist and you couldn't even sell an article? I would just curl up and cry.
