Famous and Easy Costumes for Men

Pam Gaulin
Men who are looking for fun and easy costumes will enjoy these simple ideas. They don't involve masks or make up, just a few simple props and regular clothing. If you want to add make up and masks, that's up to you.

Fun and Easy Costumes for Men

Brawny Man, the New One

Start with a white t-shirt and add a red, plaid work shirt. Wear a pair of jeans and work boots. Be sure to walk around with your chest out, and one hand on your hips. For extra good measure carry around a roll of Brawny paper towels.

Brawny Man, Retro

The Retro Brawny man hearkens back to a few years ago, although he looks like he belongs in a 1970s double R-rated movie with that mustache of his. For the Retro Brawny man you will need to make a mustache. Either you can buy one at the local costume store, or make one using wig hair and spirit gum. For the Retro Brawny man wear a blue jean shirt. Choose fl aired jeans (if you dare) rather than straight-legged jeans. Comb hair across forehead and try to get it to feather.

Sugar Bear

If you don't know if this costume is for you, it's probably not. For the bears out there, put on your best brown pants and a blue sweater. Cut letters out of felt, spelling out the word Sugar Bear. Attach them to the sweater using Velcro dots. There are also pre-cut foam letters or stickers you could buy, in the arts and crafts aisle of your local Wal-mart. Pre-cut letters are also found near poster boards in stores, for people making signs.

Wear a pair of brown gloves and brown boots to complete the look. Wearing a pair of bear ears is completely optional.

Verizon Man and Network

A group of friends can throw together an easy and famous costume: the Verizon guy and his network. The biggest argument will be about who gets to be the lead man. Chances are, it's the guy with the black-framed glasses in the group. Start with white t-shirts, add black jackets with zippers. Wear comfortable pants. You should all try to dress in similar color and styles. Make a Verizon label for the jacket, in white and red. Keep your phone handy. '"

Indiana Jones

People have not yet tired of Indiana Jones and you can create your own easy costume. Wear a pair of dark brown khakis or cargo pants. Add a tan button down shirt. Wear brown or black work boots and a dark belt. Add a whip, a fedora and a messenger bag. Don't shave and allow some scruffy stubble to grow in to complete your Indiana Jones look.

Tips for making a homemade whip: spray paint a clothes line brown. Coil it up and attach it to a belt. Create a fake machete by wrapping tin foil around a piece of cardboard. Leather jacket is optional.
