Famous Fashion Critic Releases "47th Annual Worst-Dressed Women" List

The fashion industry is a never-ending Merry-go-Round, but there's always seems to be one constant that comes every February as the Oscars approach: Richard Blackwell and his infamous "Worst-Dressed Women List."

Blackwell has chronicled the follies, foibles and fashion flops for 47 years of the fashion fiascos of Hollywood and worst-dressed celebrities from around the globe.

Blackwell, who managed his own clothing line for 35 years, has become one of the top designers in Los Angeles since beginning his fashion career in the 1950s.

After struggling to break in as an actor, the famous critic began developing apparel for such American actresses and models as Jayne Mansfield, Dorthy Lamour, Jane Russell, Peggy Lee in addition to political wives like Corretta Scott King and Nancy Reagan.

Over the years, Blackwell has made appearances on numerous talk shows and radio programs with his "Worst-Dressed List," revealing the most notable fashion fiascoes of the year.

With the list now in its 47^th year, it remains a source of controversy, amusement and conversation among the industry's most elite characters.

Lynn Redgrave may have said it best when she exclaimed, "You haven't made it until you've made 'the list!'"

For almost fifty years, the list has served as the last word on Hollywood's worst-dressed divas.

And this year is no different, with a plethora of wardrobe wrecks to scrutinize. So with the New Year in full force, Blackwell released his list of this year's ten worst-dressed women:

7) Sharon Stone: It's clear Sharon's misplaced her fashion gift-she looks like an over-the-hill Cruella De Ville-after a seismic shift!

6) Paula Abdul: Wrapped in floral fiascos that grow moldier by the hour...she's a lumpy stem...on a bumpy flower. A fallen fashion "Idol!"

5) Mariah Carey: Mariah "The Fashion Pariah" has finally found her stylistic niche...let's crown her the Queen of Catastrophic Kitsch!
