Famous People Having Underage Sex

Much has been in the news about Michael Jackson's trial for molestation of children. There are still those who think him guilty, believing little in our justice system that said he was innocent. Like his song, We Are Not Alone, Michael Jackson was not the first famous person to find himself in a bad spot. The result in Jackson's situation was that he was tried and later acquitted of child molestation allegations and several other charges in 2005.

Roman Polanski was born August 18, 1933. A consistently gloomy point of view provides the clearest connection to entries in Polanski's body of work, something that is generally traced to living with childhood trauma. Polanski was born in Paris the son of a Polish Jew and a Russian immigrant.

Most recently, he won the 2002 Academy Award for Best Director and at the Cannes Film Festival for the film The Pianist. Mr. Polanski enjoyed a long life in Hollywood films. On any day you may turn on the TV and see Rush Hour 3, Oliver Twist, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown or The Ninth Gate to name a few. Some people have compared his films to those of Alfred Hitchcock, because of their use of comedy, anxiety, and infrequent surrealism to tell immoral, depraved stories of regular men struggling to deal with an antagonistic, sarcastic world. Some people think he's telling his own story in these films. During World War II Polanski sustained serious injuries in a blast. Polanski learned his mother died at Auschwitz, but his father survived. His father remarried at which time the teenager Polanski left home. He had a near-death incident at 16, this involved Polanski nearly getting killed by a man who had just killed three people. His pregnant wife Sharon Tate was viciously murdered by the Manson Family. His next few films of graphic violence was said to mirror the director's pain and rage.

Like Michael Jackson, Polanski made the news not for his films, but for a different and altogether disastrous reason. While in Hollywood working on a venture, he was charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl. Banned from working in Hollywood, Polanski fled the country and resettled in Paris. Unlike Michael Jackson, Polanski never stood trial for his crime. He acquired French citizenship in 1976. By that time 17-year-old Nastassja Kinski was involved with Polanski.

Jerry Lee Lewis was born in Ferriday Louisiana September 29, 1935. He grew up listening to gospel and Jimmie Rodgers records. According to Rolling Stone Jerry would never flee his Assembly of God beliefs. He was taught that dance music came from the devil, that playing in honky-tonks was wicked, drinking, and partying with women would send him to hell.

Lewis' life was marked by many catastrophes. His older brother was killed by a drunk driver. Two of his sons and two wives died accidentally. He was married six times. In 1975 the IRS took most of his personal property for back taxes, and in 1981 he was near death from a perforated stomach. In 1988 he filed for bankruptcy with three million dollars of debts with no assets. Lewis' life was reported in the 1989 motion picture, Great Balls of Fire, starring Dennis Quaid.

In 1952 Jerry Lee Lewis married his preacher's daughter, but soon abandoned her to play the piano at Haney's Big House. Less than 2 years later at age 23, he married his 13 year old cousin Myra Gale Brown, his bass player's daughter, before his divorce was final. A month later Myra had a son Jerry Lee, Jr. While on tour in England, the British press printed the story of Lewis being a bigamist having sex with his 12 year old cousin. Jerry faced an equally hostile reaction when he returned to the United States. While his fans may have rejected him, he was never charged with bigamy or having sex with a minor.

Woody Allen, director/actor and actress Mia Farrow separated in 1992 after Farrow found nude photographs Allen had taken of her adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, then 22. A public fight for the guardianship of their three children began. During the procedures, Farrow alleged that Allen had sexually molested another daughter, who was then 7. The judge ultimately decided that the sex abuse charges were open to doubt, but called Allen's conduct with Soon-Yi "inappropriate." The case never went to trial and Allen was never indicted.

Gary Glitter, English rock/pop singer was one of the few people arrested as a sex offender, but he wasn't in America. Glitter was convicted for downloading 4,000 pictures of child pornography in the England in 1999, and later listed as a sex offender. Not learning from his conviction, Glitter was permanently ejected from Cambodia for suspected child sexual abuse offenses in 2002. Glitter slow to make good decisions moved to Vietnam. There he was arrested, tried and convicted of child sexual abuse charges in 2005-06.

Paul Reubens aka Pee-Wee Herman of Pee Wee Fun House children's TV show was arrested for masturbating publicly in an adult theater 1991. A little more than 10 years later, he was arrested again in relationship with an investigation concerning child pornography. Child pornography charges against him were dropped two years later following him pleading guilty to a misdemeanor obscenity charge.
