The Fancy Nancy: Tea Parties book brings you back to memories of carefree days and offers lovely ideas for inspiring your child to create tea parties-- building lasting memories along the way.
While you could plan the fanciest of tea parties, simplicity will do. What is most important about those memories is the friendship, the fun we had sharing secrets and telling tales while pretending we were princesses sipping our royal "lemon" tea.
Here are a few of my ideas "from the farm" on how to plan a memorable and "frugal" Fancy Nancy: Tea Parties:
- Think outside the home for a casual setting. The barn, a field, a picnic table setting- there are plenty of spaces to hold a fantabulous tea party
- Shop at yard sales and thrift shops for decorations, tea cups, ceramic tea pots, platters, and other party fare. A mis-matched tea setting often makes a gorgeous, decorative spread- and you won't be upset if there are any party mishaps.
- Gather up flowers (or wild flowers) from your homestead for centerpieces
- Hit the dollar store to pick up some pretty trinkets to be used as door prizes. If you incorporate poetry time (inspired by Fancy Nancy's title: Fancy Nancy: Poet Extraordinaire!) - use the prizes for awarding the "best poem," "funniest poem," "shortest poem," and so on.
- Create poetry cards using sets of rhyming words or suggested topics to help "inspire."
- Scour your home for dress-up wear (or as suggested above, pick up items from yard sales, thrift stores, or dollar stores,) such as tiaras, gloves, hats, scarves, rings, bracelets, and necklaces.
Of course you'll find lots of ideas, recipes, and oodles of fun in Fancy Nancy: Tea Parties ,
There's even a complete Fancy Nancy party line including invitations and other party supplies to help you plan a wonderful celebration . You can find these products on Amazon and at your local party supply stores.
Whatever you decide, picking up a copy of Fancy Nancy: Tea Parties to share with your child will be a fun experience. The book is filled with colorful illustrations and tons of inspiration!
