Fannie May Candies Make a Great Gift for Business and Family, Especially If You Personalize It

How to Make Your Own Assortments Using Fannie May Candy

Suzanne Rose
For the past few years, other businesses have been sending Christmas gifts to my office made up of Fannie May Candy. This year we received a whole box full of Trinidads, a wonderful chocolate and coconut concoction that I fell in love with. Even though I knew Fannie May was an expensive brand, I decided to give the website a try for gifts this year. I couldn't be happier with the results as I ended up being able to create my own personalized assortments to divide amongst my friends and family. Below I will teach you how you can do the same and end up with an affordable gift of Fine Chocolates for everyone on your list.

Fannie May offers deals and steals, so join their newsletter before you purchase! I was so tempted to purchase after my first visit to www.FannieMay.com, but I decided instead to sign up for the newsletter with hopes I would get a great deal. I am so glad I waited because a week later I ended up receiving an email that they were offering Free Shipping as well as a percentage off the order. I ended up creating a 2.5 pound assortment. As you can see on the site, the original cost of this item is $64.99. Once you add on shipping the price goes way up. However, with the special deal I had, the whole thing with shipping, taxes and all only cost me $45.

Creating an Assortment should be something you put some thought into. I spent about 20 minutes looking at all the options and picking things that I thought everyone in my family would enjoy. The assortment page is so cool as you can add any of the candies in 1/4 pound increments and the total on the top keeps track of how much space you have left. I wanted as much variety as possible, so I added 1/4 pound each of Dark Cherry, Milk Chocolate Caramel, French Nougat, May Cream Milk, Pixie, Milk & Dark Walnut Cluster, Chocolate Mint Meltaways and Dark Strawberry Cream. Then the final 1/2 pound I ordered 2 boxes of Trinidads so I could have some leftovers for me.

Shipping only took 5 days, not 7-10 like the email stated. I ordered on December 17 and received the package on December 22nd, even though the website said it would take 7-10 days. This 5 days included a weekend and some very snowy weather! I was very happy to receive this early since I was worried I wouldn't get it in time for Christmas. The assortment comes inside a big red decorative box that is meant to be given to a person, but it is also packaged in a cardboard box for shipping.

Now that you have the Big Assortment, it's time to make your own Mini Assortments. I ended up having 10 individual boxes in the assortment package, each contained one type of candy and was sealed in plastic with a nice label so you know what it is. The first thing I did was take off all the labels and save them so that I would remember what candies they were. Second, I took all the candy out of the boxes and arranged them on a table. Finally, I set up 8 boxes and went through each candy type one by one filling up the boxes. In the end, this calculates out to only about $6 per gift and I felt each box had enough for each person.

The boxes have inserts in them which can be removed if needed. I did this so that some people could fit more candy than others depending on who I was giving it to. Finally, the plain white boxes can be written on with a marker so you can label them for each person. The white boxes are also very sturdy and decent looking so you don't even need to wrap them! You could pretty them up by adding a ribbon around each box or adding stickers. If you have kids, you could let them color each box (before you put the candy in it) as a nice extra to the gift.

After they were labeled, I then put all the boxes back into the big red assortment box to leave out on the table. It will be a great teaser at my Christmas Party before we hand out gifts to everyone! In this manner, you could easily bring a stack of candy gifts to any party in one easy to carry container. Since 10 boxes fit in this assortment, you can divide it between 1 to 10 people. Of course, you could also leave each box as is and just give one type of candy to each person, but what fun is that?

If you are looking for a more personalized candy gift, a personalized Fannie May assortment is for you! You can buy an assortment for your coworkers, your group of friends, or your family members. Since you get to choose which candies go into the assortment you can pick the ones your friends and family like the most. It's easy to select one of the standard mixes and just hit "order", but it's more personal if you actually take the time to choose the candy yourself. Sign up for Fannie May's newsletter today and look for great deals for your next business or family party! You won't regret it. Enjoy!!
