Ice Road Truckers is a big hit for people who like to watch reality shows that are suspensful and thrilling at the same time. It airs on The History Channel and is now into it's third season. Season two first aired on June 8, 2008. The truckers are on a different road in season two, because the mining companies that owned the road felt like it was getting negative attention from the show. Alex, Hugh, Rick, and Drew from season one are brought back in season two as well as newcomers to the show, Eric Dufresne and Bear Swensen.

Hugh is fifty years old and is in his twentieth year driving on ice roads. Rick is only in his second year of driving on ice roads and is eventually fired at the end of season two. Alex is known as a veteran on the ice roads being in his twenty sixth year. It's a good luck charm for him to always be the first to haul a load at the beginning of each season. Drew is the rookie since he's only in his second year of ice road driving in season two. New to the show, Eric Dufresne is forty six years old and is also in his twenty sixth year of driving on the ice roads. Since he is so experienced, he is trusted to haul the heavier and more dangerous loads. Bear Swensen has only six years of experience but is also trusted in carrying these types of loads as well.

Season two episodes of Ice Road Truckers were aired as follows; Edge of the Earth, Mechanical Mayhem, The Big Blizzard, Arctic Whiteout, Lost on the Ice, Hundred Ton Haul, Man Down, A Truckers Farewell, A Rookie Fumbles, Highway Maggots, Man vs Ice, The Big Thaw, Road to the Finale, The World Crumbles, and Off the Ice being the last show that recapped all the events during season two.

At the end of season two, Hugh had the most load counts at sixty eight, then Eric with sixty seven, Bear with sixty three, Rick with fifty one, Alex with twenty two, and Drew with only nine. Alex left during the show Man Down that aired on July 20, 2008 with a pulmonary embolism.

Season two had the truckers in a lot of stress due to mechanical failures, whiteouts, and temperatures that reached sixty degrees below zero. These truckers literally put their life on thin ice for their job. Rick continuously has bad luck after having several accidents. Drew actually quits before even getting on the ice road for the first time, but eventually decides to haul his first load, in which he gets sick and ends up having to ride in the passenger seat. Season two has definitely left us fans anticipating the premier of season three.
