Why would Fantasia Barrino date a married man?
Fantasia Barrino, the 25 year old 2004 American Idol winner, has had a life that would be considered hard knocks as described in her New York Times bestselling book Life Is Not a Fairy Tale. She has endured rape, teen pregnancy, physical abuse and illiteracy. However, Barrino was blessed with an abnormally good singing voice, and she decided to try out for American Idol. Winning the competition is extremely hard for anyone to do. However, Fantasia took the prize in 2004. From there, she has released an album and played the part of Celie from The Color Purple on Broadway. Although, as reported in the Charlotte Observer, Barrino's home has faced foreclosure, Barrino has not been a star that could be consider in trouble all the time.
Fantasia Barrino has been a role model for African American people who have faced similar hardships. She is an example of someone who came out of it all and made it. However, dating a married man hurts that image.
Women date married men for many reasons, as Stephanie Modkins wrote in her article, 5 Reasons Why Women Date Married Men. The woman may be doing it to feel powerful, or because they don't think it's hurting anyone, or for other reasons. Fans are unsure why Fantasia would choose such a route and face being called a homewrecker.

Not only is Fantasia Barrino dating a married father of a one year old and a four year old, the man has left his family to move into Barrino's Piper Glen mansion. According to Star, Barrino is so infatuated with the former football player turned T-Mobile store worker, that she has tattooed his name on her arm. Time will tell if this affair develops into marriage. To accomplish that, Antwaun Cook would have to divorce his wife and likely pay child support. Of the many men that someone like Fantasia could hook up with, fans hope that she will make better decisions in the future.

Post a CommentFor all the people saying that God will forgive her, and that God is her judge, yes this is true. However, if she doesn't ask for forgiveess, he won't forgive her! You have to be sorry for what you did. Fantasia isn't sorry, nor are many other mistresses, and that's why people hate them so much. It's not that we are casting stones at other sinners, it's just that some other sinners are proud of their sins, while the rest of us realized we were wrong and tried to change. Why should I respect a woman that sleeps wth another woman's husband? She doesn't respect the wife, so why should anybody respect her? You reap what you sow. As a matter of fact, the bible says you sow the wind, and you reap a whirlwind. Her whirlwind is what's happening to her right now.

Just like all the critics and everyone else who's human, we all have skeletons in our closets. Leave the girl alone. No one is right in this situation. Before we judge Fantasia or Mr. Cook, people should clean around their own front porch. Pray for the girl, and maybe someone will pray for you. Think about it.
