David Purcey - Toronto's Purcey has two starts under his belt this year and has registered 15 Ks. His K/9 ratio is a solid 11.6. Unfortunately his K/BB ratio is just 1.67, which is reflected in his 1.54 WHIP despite sporting a .225 BAA. His ERA is slightly bloated at 4.63. If you can handle a slight bump in WHIP and ERA, Purcey can give you some Strikeouts. He's owned in 4.3% of ESPN and 28% of Yahoo leagues.
Kyle Davies - Kansas City's Davies is off to a great start. Not only has he racked up 13 Ks, but he's 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and .217 BAA. His K/9 ratio isn't as attractive at 9.23, but he more than makes up for it with his 4.3 K/BB ratio. . He is owned in 24.2% of ESPN and 55% of Yahoo leagues.
Mike Hampton - It's only a matter of time until Houston's Hampton gets injured. At least that's his track record. So far he's pitching great though. He has 13 Ks to go along with his 1-1 record, 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and .200 BAA. His K/9 ratio is 10.6 and his K/BB ratio is 2.6. He is owned in 1.2% of ESPN and 5% of Yahoo leagues.
Brandon McCarthy - McCarthy is like Purcey in that he's not helping your ERA & WHIP. He has 12 Ks, but his ERA is 4.91 and his WHIP is 1.45. His K/9 ratio is 9.8 and his K/BB ratio is 1.7. His BAA is .220 so if he can cut down the Walks, he can lower that WHIP. He's owned in 0.6% of ESPN leagues and 6% of Yahoo leagues.
Kevin Millwood - McCarthy's teammate Millwood is doing his Cliff Lee impersonation. He has 11 Ks with a 1-0 record, a 0.64 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and .184 BAA. His K/9 ratio is won't blow you away at 7.1, but his K/BB ratio is a staggering 11.0. He is owned in 43.9% of ESPN and 65% of Yahoo leagues, numbers that have increase dramatically since Opening Day.
Brian Bruney - Bruney has been a Strikeout machine as a Yankee reliever. He has 10 Ks in 5 Innings (18K/9) with just two Walks (5K/BB). He picked up a Win in relief and sports a 3.60 ERA and 0.60 WHIP. He is owned in 1.1% of ESPN and 10% of Yahoo leagues.
Braden Looper - Milwaukee's Looper has 9 Ks to go with his 1-0 record, 3.27 ERA, and 1.45 WHIP. His K/9 ratio is 7.4 and his K/BB ratio is 1.8. He is owned in 1.9% of ESPN and 10% of Yahoo leagues.
Ronald Belisario - The Dodgers reliever has 9 Ks with a 1.59 ERA and 0.88 WHIP. He has a lofty 4.3 K/9 ration and a 9 K/BB ratio. He is owned in 1.2% of ESPN and 7% of Yahoo leagues.
Zach Duke - Pittsburgh's Duke is surprisingly owned in just 17.6% of ESPN and 54% of Yahoo leagues despite sporting a 2-0 record with 9 Ks, a 0.59 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and .173 BAA. His K/9 ratio is 5.3 and his K/BB ratio is 2.3.
Octavio Dotel - The White Sox's Dotel has been the top Strikeout Artist. Nine of the ten outs he's recorded have come via the K. He picked up a Win and has a 0.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. His K/9 ratio is an insane 24.3 and his K/BB ratio is 3.0. He is owned in 11.4% of ESPN and 38% of Yahoo leagues.
