Fantasy by Britney Spears and Insolence by Hillary Swank for Guerlain: Perfume Review

Including Imitation Tommy Girl by Jean Phillipe Paris

Fantasy by Britney Spears comes in a very cute pink genie bottle with green polka dots. Fantasy was an unusual purchase for me. This is not because I dislike Britney Spears or anything like that. I just don't usually rush out and buy celebrity perfumes. To me, it seems like a new perfume comes out every month and I don't really know how much involvement the celebrity has in the creation of the fragrance.

It almost seems like a celebrity poster or something. If I find a perfume that I like for whatever reason; I would buy it because I liked it and not simply because of the name.

The reason I purchased Fantasy was because I smelled it on someone else and really liked it. It almost reminded me a little bit of Angel with a thicker and more musky feel. Angel was a perfume that was popular with me and my friends awhile ago.

Fantasy smells very strong in the bottle. This deterred me from wearing it in the beginning. I just got scared it would be too sweet or too strong. Though Fantasy smelled amazingly good on a friend; I worried that maybe we just had different body chemistries; and on me it would be too rich.

When I finally did decide to wear it, I received compliments. As a word of advice though; I would go light on the fragrance pulse points with Fantasy because I still find it to be pretty strong; even after wearing it for a few hours.

Insolence by Hillary Swank for Guerlain on the other hand is something that I took to right away. I received Insolence in a small sample bottle as a stocking stuffer on Christmas. It smells really good like food or candy. In fact the fragrance makes my mouth water. I don't particularly like the name, Insolence; as it seems a bit negative to me. But, the fragrance is out of this world. It's odd that it wasn't advertised very much like the other celebrity perfumes were. I find Insolence smells better than most of the other perfumes I've smelled.

The last fragrance I tried is Imitation Tommy Girl by Jean Phillipe Paris. This is a generic fragrance that you can get at $1 stores and discount stores all over the country.

I must admit; being a perfume lover; I can't resist smelling even the cheap perfumes-like fragrances by Jean Phillipe Paris-just to see what they smell like; and I've found quite a few gems like this one.

Jean Phillipe's Imitation Tommy Girl comes in a large kind of diamond shaped bottle with a grey plastic top. The bottle size and shape are nothing short of tacky and gaudy; but the fragrance is pretty darn good. I've gotten many compliments on it. I'm not sure how Jean Phillipe's version compares to regular Tommy Girl-as that is one fragrance that I haven't smelled-but, for $1-$3 for like 8 ounces; this is a decent buy. Imitation Tommy Girl by Jean Phillipe Paris has a somewhat light; sweet and tasteful fragrance.
