This week puts a few high picks on the bench including Plaxico Burress. Well, stick with me and read my picks. Like them or not they have a great shot at good numbers this week. Keepers are defined as players who should be started but are not generally a first round pick (no Owens or Marshals) Sleepers are guys that are left on the waiver wire or sitting on someone's bench. Both are worth a look at when deciding who to start for your team.
1) Lee Evans - The match-up is favorable and Evans really is a top tier receiver. He should get a ton of looks and a TD. The Rams will be covering him because he's the number one receiver so don't expect mind blowing numbers however I do think this is a great week to own Evans and...
2) Josh Reed - Who? Exactly. This guy has more receptions than Lee Evans and seems to be a favorite target of Trent Edwards. This could be a breakout game for Reed who should find himself open a lot with coverage being thrown in Evan's direction.
3) Greg Jennings - This guy is legit. He is the number one wide receiver in my mind. Sure Marshall is good and sure Owens is still capable but Jennings and Rodgers have a great chemistry and I expect there to be decent numbers in this battle of the Bays.
4) Santana Moss - Who would have thought on draft day that the other Moss would have been the wrong choice. Santana Moss has touchdowns in his last six games. Six games! What do you think the odds are that he will catch one against the Redskins hated rival in an aerial assault game? Pretty darn good I'd say. Moss is a consistent starter each and every week.
5) Chad Johnson - I picked him last week and I got burned. I'm sticking my neck out on this one. Carson Palmer finally started looking like Carson Palmer. Now it's time for Ocho Cinco to start looking like Chad Johnson. I predict a big game with 2 TDs.
6) Braylon Edwards - Another pick I got burned on last week. This guy is too good to be dropping all these balls. Whoever is at QB will be looking for big numbers to keep their job so look for Edwards to see a ton of looks. I predict he will hold on to the ball and have an outstanding game!
7) Reggie Bush - Until Colston comes back I consider Bush the WR1 on that team. He certainly gets the looks to warrant that label. Better yet he converts the looks into yardage and TDs. Against the 49ers expect Bush to light up the scoreboard and give Brees some great numbers as well.
8) Laveranues Coles - He finally got his TD pass last week and I believe he and Farve will do their best Warner/Fitzgerald impression. Look for several looks and high numbers. There was much ballyhoo about Cotchery getting all the looks but I believe you will see a more even placement with a slight favor towards Coles.
9) Desean Jackson - OK he's back. At least against the bears. I expect a big game out of Desean with his first TD of the year. Chicago's pass defense is questionable and Jackson should burn them for 100+ yards.
10) Bobby Engram - Say What! Yes Engram is expected to play week 5 and I thought I'd get this little warning out to you ahead of time. Engram is a proven WR1 and should be available on the FA wire. If you wait till next week you might miss him. Grab him now and reap the benefits during week 5.
There you have it folks. Read 'em and weep. Thank me by reading my article for week 5 picks.
