RB: The highlight of the panthers is their star running back tandem of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Each of them were over 1,100 yards last year and combined for 18 touchdowns. Williams is the better option of the 2 of them and is a good #1 RB. He battled an injury last year and was limited to 13 games. He's healthy now, but it's still going to be a grind for him to get his yards because of the nonexistent Carolina passing game. I'm not worried though, Williams will still get his yards, and it might not even be a bad idea to pick up Stewart as his backup while your at it,
WR: Steve Smith is the obvious as the Panther's #1 receiver. That doesn't mean that he should be your #1 option though. Smith is a good player but doesn't have anyone to get him the ball. He will still be a good #2 option for your team, and it's realistic to pick him up in the 5th or 6th round.
TE: The Panthers have a tight end? Just kidding, but in all seriousness there just isn't a TE on their roster that warrants a selection from you. Dante Rosario will be getting the reps at TE and currently has no value. Avoid taking this guy, or any other Carolina TE for that matter.
Defense: The loss of Julius Peppers, Chris Harris, and Maake Kemoeatu is really going to hurt Carolina's defense. I really don't think they can overcome the loss of those guys, therefore they should not be on your radar in your draft.
Sleeper: Brandon LaFell is my pick for sleeper because of his potential. The former LSU receiver slipped right into the laps of the Panthers in this years draft. He's got good size and athletic ability that might help take the pressure off of Steve Smith. There's talk that LaFell has a decent shot at getting a starting nod come the start of the season. Might be a good guy to have for a keeper league.
The Panthers don't get me too excited besides their running backs. I like the future potential of this team, but I think it's going to be a few years before we see a big time connection between Clausen and Lafell.
