Fantasy Football 2010: Green Bay Packers

2010 Green Bay Packers Fantasy Football Picks

QB: Aaron Rodgers has established himself as an elite quarterback the last couple years in my eyes. The scariest part is that he still has time to grow. He had a good year last year with a banged up offensive line. Rodgers is very poised and seems to make good decisions. He's surrounded by solid players and I think he will establish himself as a top 5 quarterback this year. I would look at taking him as soon as the top 3 or 4 quarterbacks are gone. If his offensive line can stay healthy Rodgers will put up huge numbers for your team.

RB: With Ryan Grant coming into the season healthy, look for him to rarely leave the field when the offense is on the field. Grant is typically a solid pick in the later rounds. He's a step below the elite but can still get you some points. I would expect Grant to still be around in the middle to later rounds, which would be a good spot to nab him.

WR: Greg Jennings will continue to be the #1 options for the Packers. He battled some injuries last year and disappointed a lot of fantasy owners. With Rodgers continuing to be a beast look for Jennings to bounce back and have another good season. My guess with the year he had last year, you will be able to get him in the middle rounds.

TE: Last year Rodgers started to develop a very good connection with Jermichael Finley. I look for them to continue that trend this year. Finley put up some solid performances against some solid teams last year. He is entering his third year and should really have it figured out by now. Once again, this little known tight end should be available in the later rounds.

Defense: Green Bay's defense lost Aaron Kampman, but he wasn't a huge contributor last year anyway. They appear to be set on defense, and I would rank them somewhere from 6-10th overall. This might not do much for you, but it will be up to you to see how your draft unfolds on where to grab them.

I expect the Packers this year to make a serious run at the NFC North this year. The title will probably come down to the head to head meetings with the Minnesota Vikings. The Packers have assembled a nice team and have a lot of nice players piling up around their centerpiece Aaron Rodgers.
