Fantasy Football Advice for All Formats!
Hurt by the Injury Bug? Need to Free Up Some Cash for Another Position? This is the Place for You!
Man, fantasy can be a buttmunch sometimes.
As the title describes, I'm gonna do one of my patented (not so much...) fantasy articles, with two parts: the first (add/drop) covers both salary cap leagues and regular add/drop/waiver wire league (like roto or head-2-head). At the end, I'll throw a couple of bargain buys for you to check out.
Adds:
-Jesse Chatman, RB- He'll be replacing the feel-bad fantasy story of '07, Ronnie Brown. Miami has proved they've got an O-line, even if that's all they've got. Brown's a great back, but those holes he's been getting from time to time are insane. Chatman can fill in nicely as a #2 RB or at the flex position.
-Brian Griese, QB- He's quickly become consistent, at least much more so than Gross-man was. He's sort of pulling a David Garrard, just not as good: Quiet, consistently decent outings. If he's available, it won't hurt adding him.
-Roddy White, WR- As Nate Ravitz pointed out in his ESPN.com article, White is on pace for over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns? That's good stuff.
-Any available New England offensive player- And now you have your "no duh" statement of the day
-New York Giants, DEF/ST- They're monsters, and have come on strong the last few weeks. Don't buy into what Seattle did last week, that was more of an aberration than anything else. The Giant defense is still decently available.
-Earnest Graham, RB- All you need to do is see what he did last week to figure this one out. Who knew he'd be this much involved in the offense? And I had him benched....
Drops:
-Nate Burleson, WR- He's been flourishing in Seattle's offense, but with DJ Hackett AND Deion Branch expected to return, his value will be back to where it was at season's beginning.
-Jon Kitna, QB- I got him in my ESPN.com fantasy draft, and have regretted it. He's become a fantasy dud for 2 weeks in a row, and it doesn't look like the Lion offense is so pass-heavy anymore. There's got to be a better option for you than him.
-Chad Pennington, QB- If you had him starting, I'm sorry in the first place. But now, he's probably not starting the next game, because Kerry Collins will be getting a shot. Like Kitna, there's got to be a better option.
-Any Oakland RB- The RBBC approach doesn't make anybody a viable fantasy starter, in my opinion. Too much of a headache.
And now...for some bargain buys in the salary cap.... (Note: Prices are based on The Sporting News salary cap football game. Prices are sure to be different if you play on another site, but more than likely these players are cheaper than other options!)
-Washington, DEF- They're good, averaging 225 TNSP per game, and they're running at 1.5 million right now. Bargain! There are six DEF that have earned more TSNP than Washington's, none available for less than 3 million.
-Derek Anderson, QB- Cleveland has a good offense. And they face the Rams in week 8. He's been a top salary cap QB this season, and for less than 3.5 million, this is a serious bargain! Plus, he's coming off his bye week, so now's the time to buy in here.
-Braylon Edwards, WR- Available at about 4 million, he's been a top producing WR all season. Coming off the bye week, Anderson will be looking for his favorite target the rest of the season.
-Devon Hester, WR- Now, he relies more on special teams work than his WR skills, but he was kicked away from last week, resulting in a poor fantasy showing. Will other teams do the same? If you don't think so, Hester's top TSNP producer so far this season, and you'll only pay 2.5 million or so for him.
-LenDale White, RB- He showed last week what he can do as the featured back, and he's still less than 3.5 million, I think. Money-saver right here, so you can go afford Tom Brady
