Fantasy Football Top Rookie Performances of Week One
A Look at the Top Fantasy Football Performances by NFL Rookies of the 2010 Season
Running Backs
Jahvid Best had an outstanding debut for fantasy owners. Best had a mere 20 yards rushing and 16 receiving yards. Jahvid caught five passes. However, Best scored twice and had an 18 fantasy point game.
Wide Receiver
Jordan Shipley, the 24 year old rookie out of Texas had five receptions for 82 yards. Shipley was good for 9 fantasy points on Yahoo! Fantasy football. The Cincinnati Bengals might be a fantasy football sleeper to investigate.
The Dallas Cowboys first round pick Dez Bryant had a solid pro debut. The former Oklahoma State standout had eight catches for 56 yards. Dez performance was worthy of 10 fantasy points.
Mike Williams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers caught five passes for 30 yards and a touchdown. Williams out of Syracuse had a performance worth 12 fantasy points.
Tight Ends
The Kansas City Chiefs third round pick Tony Moeaki had a productive debut. The Iowa product caught three passes for 21 yards. However, one of those catches was for a touchdown. Tony's debut was worth 10 fantasy points.
The New England Patriots rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez had only one catch. However, his catch was for 45 yards. The former Florida Gator star had a three fantasy point debut.
The Patriots other rookie tight end Rob Gronkowski only had one receiving yard. The one catch however was for a touchdown.
Quarterbacks
Sam Bradford, the number one pick in the 2010 NFL draft made his debut. Using Yahoo! Sports Fantasy scoring he ended up with three points. Bradford passed a lot for the Saint Louis Rams completing 32 of 55 passes. Sam threw for 253 yards and a touchdown. All of that is great for a rookie quarterback. However, he threw three interceptions and was sacked twice. Those are not great numbers in fantasy football.
