Fantasy Football: Undervalued NFL QB's in 2010

Fantasy Football Owners Would Do Well to Look at These Quarterbacks

Jason Hargreaves
Everyone is talking about it, in fantasy football circles that is. Running back by committee has changed the way fantasy football is played. Running backs used to be your stud producers, but outside of a few premier backs in the league the quarterback position is accounting for more and more of your fantasy production.

Have a look at these quarterbacks and where they are being drafted when making your draft boards this fantasy season.

Tom Brady - With an average draft position hovering just under 4th among his position it's hard to say a player is 'undervalued'. But the intangibles point to Brady having an outstanding year. Despite the fact that he was injured two years ago, he still came back and had a statistically great season last year. He's in a contract disputes right now, but he still has the drive to win. The running touchdowns had him ecstatic in the most recent game, he is as driven as any NFL quarterback right now. A lot of mediocre running backs and decent receivers are going ahead of Tom Brady in fantasy drafts and if you want points from a quarterback, you might consider Brady in the early rounds.

Jay Cutler - Cutler is being drafted as a solid qb2 in most fantasy drafts right now or a mediocre qb1. Cutler may not have the best receiving corps in the NFL right now but he still has the arm he had in Denver. He also has Mike Martz running the offense now and Martz loves to air it out. Martz offenses put up great fantasy numbers in general and if you're stuck in the middle rounds without a good quarterback, look in Cutler's direction.

Kevin Kolb - In a season that will reward a lot of fantasy franchises for having a stud quarterback, Kolb is a solid pick. His average draft position has been falling as more and more fantasy owners show their lack of faith. Kolb put up some very nice numbers in his limited starts last season and has a talented young receiving corps to work with. DeSean Jackson was a fantasy superstar last year and Maclin is looking stellar so far in the preseason.

Don't forget when drafting your fantasy franchise this season you really want to focus on your quarterback position. With the stables of running backs NFL teams are accumulating these days you quarterback has the chance to put up a significant chunk of your teams points. Good luck in your drafts in the coming weeks. Find more valuable fantasy review in my other articles.
